Q: For a 5' 6" tall person, how low this poncho will fall (front and back)?

It should come very close to the knees. I find it a little longer in the front than the back. A bit above the knees in the back but still well below the waist.

Q: What are the total dimensions laying flat?

77 inches by 46 inches. Light but warm. I love it

Q: How does thing do in windy conditions? Had one once, but it was a loose weave. Wind went right through it.

This isn't a loose weave, and it's alpaca wool, so it's very warm and soft. It's very well made. I'm in California and it keeps me plenty warm in winter.

Q: I just received mine in the mail, but I'm curious.. is it supposed to shed? I tried it on and had hair all over me afterwards.

I did not notice that problem with mine
