I wanted an inexpensive organizer, and that's what I received. I stop short of five stars only because this item isn't a piece of fine furniture that would deserve all five. It's not there to impress. It's there to organize. The dimensions are smallish, but perfect for the space I had in mind. My elderly parents used a couple of TV trays in front of their couch's center while they sat on either end. Both TV trays were stacked high with folders, papers, mail, and the occasional remote control. This small organizer takes the place of both TV trays, with room leftover. It doesn't stand too tall to interfere, and it doesn't spill papers at every bump. Not a fall hazard. Smaller footprint. Every advantage I hoped my parents would receive is realized. As for footprint on the floor, this organizer occupies roughly half of one TV tray. I may get a second on for my parents to sit beside the first one - there's still room in front of the sofa's middle seat. And with two, each parent can have drawers facing toward their own end of the couch.
