Habits of Grace Study Guide: Enjoying Jesus through the Spiritual Disciplines

An absolutely fantastic book! I recommend it for any Christian, whether you're a minister seeking to be more faithful with your calling or if you're a layperson seeking to be more faithful with your time. David Mathis is an exquisite writer and the contents of the book are rather simple to understand. I love how he states a concept, and then wheen questions start to form in your mind, he answers them for you in the following pages. Very thorough, yet very easy to understand.

Along with the workbook, I find this little book on the disciplines of the Christian life helpful and thought-provoking (or maybe "soul-searching" would be a better term.) Do read the Foreward by John Piper, who cleverly explains how the title and subtitle point to how we enjoy Jesus.

I was looking for a book which while focusing on fundamentals, would also stretch my friend and me in our personal spiritual disciplines.. It does this very effectively.
