Well worth the price. My dog loves this brush.
I have a medium to long hair Shih Tzu Maltese (Malshi) and I brush her twice a day with this brush. I think it's like a massage for her. It works perfectly in her hair and she has no knots. It came with 1 bristle missing but I didn't mind. It still gets the job done. Expensive but is used twice a day and she doesn't run from it.

Great brush
The wooden pins have just enough give to make this a great brush. Handle is comfortable.

Expensive but well worth the extra money
I've tried many many different grooming tools over the years to groom my Persian, each having it's own type of long coats - silky to cotton candy like. In Jan when I adopted another Persian kitten, my breeder recommended that I buy Chris Christensen Buttercombs, extra coarse. The Buttercombs are far superior to any other brand combs or brushes I've purchased b4. They easily glide though each type of coat, and my cats love being combed using the Buttercombs. Therefore I thought I'd try Chris Christensen Oblong Wood Pin Brush. I plan to use it to use this brush to help dry my Persians long hair after their baths. I like that the pins for this brush are wooden and long, long enough to go through the long hair of my Persians without hurting their skin. The brush itself is soft on their skin. Chris Christensen's combs and brushes are expensive. But well worth the extra money. I also purchased Chris Christensen's Gold series 35mm brush with this one. I love the Gold series brush, and my cats love it too.

My Dog Liked Being Brushed For The First Time
My English Shepherd needs daily brushing but up until now has only tolerated short sessions before walking away when I used a brush with metal or plastic pins that pulled at her hair. She seems comfortable with being brushed with the Chris Christensen Oblong Wood Pin Brush - actually laid down when I brushed her. What a difference! She liked it.
