I love these
These are so great for visualizing math problems. I love that they are measured in centimeters. I love that there are so many of them. I love that they're color-coded. And I love that they come with idea cards.I'm giving four stars instead of five because the number is only marked on one of the four sides. My daughter, who is two, is constantly rotating them around and around in order to find the number. I would be really great if they were marked on all sides.

Nice Quality Educational Counting Activity
These immediately reminded me of one of my kids' favorite number counting shows and they immediately took to them. I think these number rods are useful for young kids learning about counting and math as they offer the kids a visual representation of the numbers they're counting and building upon. Whether they use just the set to learn about counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, or incorporate it into their school work to help see the number groups off the page, these could be helpful for young learners. The set itself it nicely made. The colors are bright and the rods are light but sturdy to stack together. The set comes with some activity cards to get started and a nice plastic case to store everything away when done. And if your kid just like blocks, then they can stack and build in more of a playtime setting once any counting / match lessons are over. They don't interlock; they just stack, but my kid still enjoys stacking them into structures once finished with the counting lesson.

Mostly great - just tiny wishes to make it better
I gave this to my daughter for her 5th birthday. She loves math and I thought she might have some fun with this. She has played with it once now and likes the brightly colored blocks. We did a few math things with it and she was getting the hang of how to use it. It comes with a few practice cards that are helpful (one has each of the numbers and what color block corresponds, which is nice for quickly finding one). I wish there were a lot more of the practice/activity cards. There were 5 cards that are double-sided, so 10 math activities to do. I don't know if they sell others, but it would be nice to get a larger set that are applicable to her math level so she'd have a better idea of what to do with them. The blocks themselves are nice and feel good in the hand. One one side of them, they have circles to indicate what number they are - so a red block has two circles, so it's a 2. Then another side of the block will also have the actual number on it. This was mostly good, although the number is the same color as the block and, for instance, the red 2 was a bit hard to read on the red block. But most were okay.I'm not sure we'll get a ton of use out of these at home as they are definitely something I won't take out without supervision as they would end up all over the house. These would probably be great for a teacher to use, though.

Amazing math manipulatives!
My almost 5 year old son started playing with these as soon as I opened up the package and it was exciting to see how easily we can do math problems with them! I showed him how to do a subtraction problem, and the then showed me how to do an addition problem, all on his own! He said, "Mommy, 2 + 2 = 4!"Really great tool to use with a kindergartner like my son, and a bit younger and older as well! I'm excited to use these to help further his learning and understanding of mathematical concepts. The only downside is that the numbers are hard to see, and the lines on the sticks are on one side, and I think they should be all around so you can see which number they are representing. Otherwise, these are really great math learning tools and great for homeschooling as I am doing, or for use in the classroom!

Usefulness probably depends on intended usage
The good: This number rod kit came with everything listed plus two extra unit blocks (white), which seem the most likely to be lost. The box was plastic wrapped, which seemed to help prevent it from popping open in the mail. They are lightly textured. They are straight, even though the pattern in the table makes them look curved in the picture.Neutral: When working with numbers ten and below, I don't forsee any major problems for any but the most exacting child. However, I bought these to familiarize myself with a different method of teaching, so your mileage may vary. One side is marked at approximately one centimeter intervals, and includes the number. Also, in spite of knowing an inch is approximately 2.54 centimeters, a centimeter is smaller than I expected. I don't think I would let a kindergartner use it without one on one supervision. My cat also seems oddly attracted to the blocks, so you might want to use them in a room that animals don't have access to.The bad: Except the 10 (orange), the blocks are each approximately 1 millimeter short. This may lead a child to make false conclusions as pictured with the measuring tape. The larger the number, the more likely an error will occur. At this point, I don't know if people will find them useful or not, but I'm hoping that the details I gave will be enough to make an informed decision.

Engaging
I love when kids think they are just playing with a fun toy, but they are also learning something.

Great learning toy!
These are a great learning tool. I use them for math with my 7 year old and learning hos to count with my 2 year old. Each number is a different color so its easy to find another number youre looking for.
