Took longer to install than it should have....
Well I'm not really too sure what to say about it. It's a little bit thinner than I expected, but still very firm when riding: eliminated alot of the rattle I was getting from my old standard windshield, and blocks a LOT more of the wind as well: I can now ride fairly comfortable at 55mph without glasses on if I choose to (with the tall windshield).Installation was not terribly difficult, but certainly requires a little bit of wrenching: if the idea of loosening a few bolts worries you, you're going to want to get this installed for you (though honestly, it's only a few bolts, and none of them hold on anything that will make the bike fall apart or anything when removed). Took me about an hour and a half to remove my old windshield brackets, install the mounting kit for this thing (note: for my bike the kit is part # MEK1923...looks different than the pic on amazon as it is a solid bracket as opposed to circular lock type brackets) - a couple of the screws were challenging to get mounted owing to the thickness of the washers...but my bike isn't exactly stock because the previous owner fancied himself a tinker (he may know more than I do, but he is not a good bike tinker). Really not much to it: fit over my headlight, around my light bar, and with just a slight turn, in front of my speakers. The quick lock mechanism to remove/install the batwing is awesome - you really can snap it off/on in a matter of a couple of seconds. That, more than anything else, impressed me about this purchse: highly recommend buying the Memphis Shades trigger lock mount kit to go with it, rather than trying any other mounting solution. So far, very pleased with the purchase.

Fit perfectly
I had this on my Honda VTX 1800C. I needed to replace the original and was nervous about buying something 15 years after the original one cracked (my fault). I called Memphis Shades - they said check the part number - I re-ordered the part from them and it fit with the old windshield and mounts perfectly. I would caution to make sure the part number is correct if you are replacing an old part - because the piece did not look "exactly" like my old wing, but when the part came - it was the exact part. So very pleased with the process - and back riding again.

The reference Batwing fairing, but there may be better options for your bike
Nice quality Batwing fairing although mine appears to be slightly twisted which makes is impossible to mount totally squared up to the bike. Bike-specific mounts sure increase the overall cost. You might want to check other Batwing options for your bike before purchase; some manufacturers may offer kits with fairing interiors that provide radio and/or gauge mount options.Finish is high quality but looks like it will scratch and Mar easily.

Fairing
I love the fairing! Used the trigger lock installation kit on my vtx 1300. Super easy install. Looks great and it easily comes off in seconds if I want to change the look of the bike! Only wish I had the windshield to go with it! It's missing in action. Do yourself a favor and shop local. I'm going to go order the windshield from my Honda dealer and wait two weeks for Amazon to investigate so I can get my money back from them. :(

its okay looks cool as he!!
i have the batwing had it for about a week. I has a ms flats as well. the main reason I got it is for the looks of it. I think that it looks cool as he!!. but the money that I spent on it not worth what I got. $280 for the wing-$80 for the 9inch shield-and $165 for the mounting kit.- $525 total and its not the quality that I tought it would be. mine made a noise going down the road from the shield vibrating I had to but a piece of rubber in the bottom 2 corners of the shield where it touchs the batwing. no inner fairing options for it. I have handlebar speakers to my ipod so tunes not a huge deal. but I guess that's why its $525 and not $1000 like the rest of them. I still need to paint it another $200-$300? I think not yet next year thing. I don't like that the mounting is diffenret than theyre older mounting system. to me if you make a mounting system and sell a ton of them and you come out with a new product. make it compatible with the old mounting system and offer the new "trigger lock" as a upgrade instead of making people that already spent $200 on your old set-up have to spend another $165 on you new system and then another $85 on the plate kit so they change back and forth. and me I don't like the "trigger lock" seems kinda cheap. I thought.so my break down on rating the batwing by Memphis shades would bequality 2.5 out of 5looks 5 out of 5functionality 4 out of 5value for your money 3 out of 5 (just because you cant use old mounting system and if you already have the old mounting system to change back to the flats or slim you need to buy new plates)

If you actually ride and your Bike isn't a Garage queen, avoid at all costs
These fairings look sharp. I painted mine with spray on truck bed liner and it looked like wrinkle black. My second one that is. I ride a 2011 Fatbob. I ride hard and I ride a lot. These fairings just aren't made for this kind of riding. Bought my first one in June 2013. It lasted until Sept. 2013. I then bought another one which lasted until May 1 2014. They're just brittle and break very easily. If it were ABS plastic ( they're Lucite )it might last longer. Also on a fatbob with dual headlights they do not install easily, you must relocate the turn signals, and it was not that easy to put back on once removed. Every time it would knock my headlights out of alignment. Well lesson learned. Burn me once shame on you. Burn me twice shame on me. WAY, WAY over priced. And it added a wobble to my front end. I recommend that anyone who actually rides their bike buy something else. In this case you do not get what you pay for.P.S. I bought the big zipper pouch and that even broke where it connected to the fairing! Overpriced junk all the way around.
