Is there an air tight seal with the lid closed with the spoon in?

I don't have this model-the square set with two containers. Mine is a round salt cellar with a lid that swivels open and magnets that keep it closed. It is not an airtight seal but it hasn't affected the salt. I used to have a salt cellar that had no lid at all and the salt was fine.
