GIS Tutorial for ArcGIS Desktop 10.8

For a first timer it would have been helpful to have more specific information in chapter one. Mainly for the ADD layer maps. Initially it was not clear that some layers can only be accessed by clicking OK when in the DATA folder, then go to sub folders. The instructions were misleading which took time to figure out. I ordered this on January 19 (MLK Jr Day) and I just received it on January 21! I immediately opened it up and it is perfect! I will have to upload a picture for you. It is amazing! The sides of the pages are marked by chapter 1-12. I happened to open up to "Assignment 6-2 Dissolve Property Parcels To Create A Zoning Map. On this two page spread it is outlined "Get Set Up," "Build The Map," "Requirement," "Create A PowerPoint Document." I am incredibley excited about this! I feel I can do anything with this book and find how to do it with ease!

This book covers mostly ArcMap, a legacy ESRI product. However, ArcMAP is still widely used and relevant. Thus, so is this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to learn ArcMAP and eventually ArcGIS Pro. The book comes with a 180 day trial of ArcMAP and other ESRI products - very handy.

The etextbook does not come with the free trial to download the software. Now it's too late to refund my etextbook to get a physical copy
