Q: has the problem of sharp edges in the crate been corrected?

No, it has not. I received the 36x23x25 intermediate crate today (2/22/2019) and the edges are definitely sharp. In the past two years, I have ordered two of the higher end MidWest Ultima Pro crates and neither had sharp edges. I wish that I purchased another Pro but I needed something lighter, cheaper for a growing puppy. I think the Midwest Pro is the way to go-thicker, sturdier, no sharp metal.

Q: Should we keep our Boston Terrier pups 5&6mos, male & female in same large crate , no separator, separate beds which we do now?

Keeping them separate makes for a lot more flexibility and better feeding. The solution is to swap the side panels so you have a door on each side of the divider. A pair of pliers is all you need to open the clips, switch the sides, and re-clip. Then the divider will separate the doors, making two accessible enclosures. This way, when the pups are fed there is no competition and you can tell who is eating what.

Q: My dog tends to scratch after I leave, would the bottom tray on this be able to be pushed out by her scratching?

My dog does not scratch, but I say if you can pull it out yourself and your dog has pulled out other trays from previous kennels, then your dog most likely will be able to move it out from under him/her. I used to have a dog that did that before and the way I fixed it was by placing 4 holes in the tray over a meeting point for the wires. The holes were big enough for me to run 2 zip ties in a crossed shape to secure the tray to the bottom of the kennel. My dog was unable to chew through it and the tray stayed put. After a while my dog got used to it and didn't need the zip ties there anymore. It is part of training them ;). I hope this suggestion works for you.

Q: My dog escapes this crate within minutes, how can I secure the doors?

At first, I used zip ties at top and bottom but my smartass ate the zip ties. Now that he knows, his crate is a good thing( dog cave) he doesn't try anymore..just goes to sleep or rests or plays with his toys.
