Alison Green Books The Highway Rat Early Reader

My granddaughters have the board book version and I like it so much, i had to have one here. This is a great paperback version. Funny, but with a moral story to tell. Even the villain ends up happy enough. When i'm reading it, I miss out some of the repeat lines which don't seem to add anything and make it quite hard to read out loud. I think this was to fit with the original poem it was based on. The TV film is very funny too. I do wish they'd draw a bridle correctly though, and not have riders yanking on reins, especially to go make horses go! It's a pet hate of mine. There's no way this bridle would stay up! People who aren't horsey should check with someone who knows, it's not hard to find people.

A fabulous story from the Julia Donaldson collection. A clever story, with a great moral to it. A cheeky but greedy rat. I would recommend to toddlers over 3, as the story needs some explanation as to why the rat is being mean! Such a great read and a lovely early reader layout for toddlers wanting a denser book. Great book!

Wonderful book, love Julia Donaldson and Alex Scheffler.

Not well known title but good nonetheless.This story focuses on a bully who is greedy but ultimately gets his just reward. Love all of her books!
