This review is on the AprilAire 1413 Performance Upgrade Filter Kit. It’s packaged very well for shipping and Amazon arrived at my door on Christmas Eve, just 2 days after I ordered it. All of the components have the look and feel of the highest quality and are very well made and designed. The assembly only took a few minutes to complete. The 6 metal frame pieces simply snap together. After removing the old, cumbersome filter from my Space-Gard 2400 housing, the new frame slides into place on the existing guides inside the housing. The new 413 pleated filter media has plastic guides securely attached to the top and bottom that simply slide into the guides on the new frame assembly. Reattach the door to the housing per the well illustrated instructions and you’re all done ! One of the best features of this filter kit is that you have the ability to use optional high performance filters offered by AprilAire. The standard 401 filters are okay but they can’t compare to the quality of the 413, 413 CBN (carbon) or the 416 HEPA style filters. Clean air in my home is important. That’s why I avoid the lower cost and quality imported filters. Amazon carries genuine American made AprilAire Filters 🇺🇸.

My unit uses this filter. I have ordered them for years and had never had a problem except for this one received last week. White filter is stapled only twice onto the very thin cardboard. The filter kept coming out so I had to use a stapler to staple it. Once I did that then I was able to install it. After that no problems.
