Troy Bilt Replacement Lawn Mower Engine Control Cable 946-1130 746-1130

I bought this cable from this seller solely because it was pictured the same as the original cable for my mower. The one I got has an attached snap collar, which isn't the same as what they showed. Bummer because now I need to try to saw the collar off and see if I can finagle it. Yay....

The first cable that I received from this vendor was no where near the correct length. So it was immediately returned and a replacement was delivered a couple of days later. When I installed this replacement cable, my experience was the same as the review by sparky on June 7, 2021. The ends are correct but the cable is too long to work correctly. I did the same thing he did and tied one knot in the cable to shorten it up and now it works. I guess being slightly too long is far better than being too short. Hopefully it lasts thru the end of our mowing season with a knot in the cable.

Purchased this to replace on our Honda Troy-built lawnmower that is probably circa 2005. Seemed straightforward, but the tip that is supposed to fit into the little hole by the motor was too wide to fit. After trying for 30 minutes, got onto the Troy built website & ordered the genuine replacement part. Received it this week and it snapped in easily. I would skip the knock off part and go with the manufacturer’s parts to save time and hassle.

Couldn't have asked for a beter experience. Perfect fit and took 5 mintues to install. The only thing that seemed "off" to me was that the picture impllied that there'd be a zip tie, or two, to secure the cable to the handle, but these were missing from the shipment. The missing ties wern't important as it was easy to find an alternate way to secure it, and I've been happy with the result.This cable also seems better than the original as there is some extra reinforcement on this one which is at the same point where the original snapped.

As stated in other reviews, picture does not MATCH the product, this product should not be ALLOWED to be sold with the advertisement picture, it’s not as the OEM, It is unethical. It only has 1 pod plastic at one end, it needs 2 to fit my Troy bilt, one of the metal brackets broke also during the installation. Again PICTURE does not MATCH the PRODUCT that’s the BOTTOM LINE.
