A DIY woodworking project to make it usable (Edit: it's fine now)
Edit: I contacted CRKT customer service and they very quickly sent me a whole new axe, not just a new handle. The new one is great and I have no complaints remaining. That kind of customer service goes a long way.Axe head is cool and looks decent for outdoor use despite being a little narrow in the taper. It's respectably sharp; I could use it out of the box for processing wood or throwing. The handle, on the other hand, is trash. It's turned down way too much; comically narrow. It's dangerous in this state, and doesn't come with wedges or anything to correct it. The finish isn't great either, and I can feel some splinters when I run my hand along it.The price is too high for a somewhat-cool axe head and a DIY wood project to make it usable. Not recommended.

The head will take a beating before needing to be sharpened
CRKT did this good. The steel is very nice. I chopped up a few logs for firewood with ease. Still sharp. The handle is a different story. It's like an exact fit all the way to the top of the handle, and flush with the head. There's like no room to push more handle through to get more secure. That said, just stake it and add some wood glue. The handle is strong and light. I added some cord and made a handle for it just to get a better grip.

Wont Catch me in the Woods Without It
This Axe has quickly become my favorite daily carry when I am out in the woods. The axe head design gives a great cutting edge despite weighing less than a typical camping hatchet. The simple handle feels great and allows me to slip it through a belt loop when I need to carry it at the hip. Break down is quick and easy for packing away or for maintenance. The handle i received with my axe does fit the axe head a little loosely, but not a deal breaker for me. I have added some leather strapping to help keep the axe head seated and prevent it from sliding down the handle when in regular use. Also for the Axe throwing enthusiasts out there, this Axe flies.

Small camp/backpack axe
It is mostly what I wanted, a bearded axe for backpacking. It does need sharpening and the handle is basic, but both of those are easily addressed.

Perfect fit right out of the box!!!
Ooooo! Now this is an Axe! CRKT has done it again with this beautiful beast! Hand forged, burnt hickory handle with No finish!! I love it. The blade did not come sharp though. I don't know why but every axe/hawk I've purchased came dull, not sharp at all. I wish CRKT would professionally sharpen their axes, but that's my only gripe. I had to do Nothing to this handle! The fit came Perfect! Right out of their lovely packaging! Excellent Beserker axe.

Handle doesn't fit properly.
Only reason for 3 stars is that the handle of the ax has too small of taper on end that goes in Ax head. Yes I put the proper end in but head doesn't seat until it's almost half way in the head of ax. Quality of ax head is good though, so I will make a handle for it.Also product is not made in USA as claimed, It's a product of Taiwan, clearly marked on box delivered in.

Solid
Takes a beating, balanced well, heavy and solid but not unwieldy.Processes wood well, the head can be removed easily for ferro rods or other more close up tasks, the handle is an ideal length and the factory edge is decent.Consider the other CRKT hatchets as well, as they all are good, but I prefer this one.

Handle makes axe unsafe to use. Customer service has failed replacement after two months.
The workmanship of the blade is good, the edge was a little rough but I cleaned it up with a diamond stone in about an hour. Could have done it faster if I used power tools but took my time. The handle and customer service is where it falls apart. The handle is twisted so the cutting edge of the blade points about 30 degrees to the side. This causes quite a bit of torque when using it as it is made to be used. Twisting the handle in your hand. This puts allot of side pressure on your wrist twisting the axe with every swing. It’s unsafe to use with this handle. I talked to customer support and after I sent them pictures they admitted it was a known issue and said they it would take a couple weeks to process but would send me a new handle and blade guard (blade guard was damaged in shipping). It’s now been two months and they have not sent me anything. Very disappointed to say the least.** updateAfter 4 months I received a new handle without a new blade guard. The new handle was also twisted and unusable. I ended up making my own and buying a blade guard from another axe taking it apart and remaking it to fit this one.
