This is a very tiny shelf that will only hold very tiny light weight things. Please read the description details when ordering so you are not surprised and disappointed. I wanted something sturdy to separate my purses on the top shelf of my closet. The shelf in place is of the same material as this product. I ordered 2 units giving me a total of 60 inches.. All I had to do was put the shelves into place on the backboard and lay it flat on my closet shelf. The horizontal shelves are now vertical (upright) and keep the purses separated very well. I only had 59 inches of space so we did have to saw 1 inch off of one unit. No big deal.

I purchased these shelves to organize my shoes in my closet, and I’m very impressed with the quality and how easy they were to assemble. The final result is exactly what I wanted.

Oh my, there is no zero stars, how unfortunate. One star is grade inflation. I have put stuff together before but I had almost no chance to make this work. This was worthless and I returned it. The screws were to big for the holes drilled and probably too big for the wood period. I cracked three of the shelves before I gave up. The holes did not line up, so 2 of the shelves were mounted crooked enough that they were unusable anyway. :) After the first one cracked I tried partially screwing the screw in to the holes without mounting it first, to make the holes a little bigger but that didn't work either. If you insist on building it I would buy smaller screws and drill your own holes through the spine, that way you can guarantee the shelf will be level and maybe not crack. I wouldn't put anything heavy on it either.

If you're looking for a cheap and very small shelf (which is what I was looking for), then this is the shelf for you. However, I don't think this shelf is worth $26. It reminds me of the stuff you buy at Ikea (because for the price you pay you NEVER get anything that's made of wood, something is always crooked and it's never durable). After reading all the reviews I knew it wasn't going to be great, but there was nothing else that would fit in the small space I needed it in, so I decided to give it a shot since I wasn't going to put a ton of stuff on it (it's a semi-night stand to put a book to read and my phone/charger, etc because I don't have space for anything bigger).When you screw this together you get nervous, because once the shelf is almost screwed on you can hear the cracking noises coming from inside the board and you're worried it's gonna split in half (some of the shelf boards bulge where the nail is screwed in because something was crooked (maybe me? lulz), this only happened with 2 screws for me.Although it came with all the screws for the shelf boards it didn't come with any for the hanging, I was lucky I had a couple lying around but if I didn't have any I'd be pretty SOL. I'm not sure if they were supposed to come with a pair but since it wasn't on the assembly sheet I'm guessing they don't. Considering that most people who purchase this product aren't looking for anything fancy and over budget they could probably afford to put a couple extra screws or hangers or something for the [most likely] college student, or person with a small room.Anyway, I knew I was paying for something cheap, but this was even cheaper than I thought and is probably worth more like $10 rather than $26. If I knew the quality of the pieces I was buying I'd rather have gone to Ikea and at least look at and touch the shelf I was going to be putting up. After I put it up it ended up being slightly crooked, so now I'm not sure if my window sill (which I used to set it against) is crooked or my fit of anger set it off several millimeters. I definitely won't be piling anything on it, and good thing that wasn't my intention for purchasing it either otherwise I'd be very sad (even more sad).
