It says conditioning shampoo. Should I use just the shampoo or a conditioner as well? My daughter is 7.

My kids (7 year old girl and 5 year old boy) have never needed conditioner with this shampoo. It's pretty mild so I'd try it alone first.

Is it good for dry hair

This is not a dry hair shampoo. It is for wet hair like regular shampoo however it does not lather much. Has no numbing agent like other "tear free" shampoos. Well worth the price.

would this be good for a very active 8 year old? Other kids shampoos don't get it clean .Been using my awapuhi but looking for Tear Free

I say yes because my daughter is 8 years old. I have been using this product for many years! My daughter sometimes puts a small face cloth on her eyes to help. I also use leave in conditioner in her hair to help to moist the hair.

Is this shampoo volumizing?

I would say no, it's just very gentle shampoo for young kids.
