I saw this book and knew it was meant for me. I’m excited to try some of the recipes to create my spreads while I learn to build a board and prepare for guests

This is the third cookbook by Shelly Westerhausen Worcel that I own. I have really enjoyed cooking from Shelly's cookbooks and blog Vegetarian 'Ventures in the last couple of years. This new cookbook is another lovely collection of recipes. I already tried the brown butter pound cake and I'm happy to report that it got rave reviews. I have already bookmarked lots of recipes to try in the future as well. My only "complaint" would be that this type of meal is not ideal during this pandemic so for now I will be preparing single recipes rather than spreads.I would recommend this book to anyone looking for simple but innovative recipes with a modern twist.

I loved her first book and enjoy this one even more. I’m not sure why some reviewers thought there weren’t enough pictures. There are tons of charts and illustrations and every single spread has a picture. There are often pictures, too, with many of the individual recipes that are part of the greater spread. As far as I see it, no pictures are missing. While I love to cook and bake, I don’t have an artistic eye for arranging things so I find this extremely valuable both for strictly following her directions as well as for generating inspiration for custom spreads.My book came smashed in pretty bad along the entire top edge, like something fell on it and crushed it. While that was disappointing, the book is still useable and the content is great — and that matters most.

Purchased this as a gift for someone who enjoys decorating for gatherings for family and friends. The book can be the host's inspiration for planning and executing an enjoyable get-together, with several examples of tablescapes and foods to accomplish just that. The author provides suggestions as to steps to take in planning and prepping for an event, that can make it flow smoothly, and also, making it less stressful.

I purchased this book because I saw it in a store for $27. Amazon is selling this for about half of that. I purchased two, one for myself and one for a hostess gift. It’s a very very pretty book.
