Works great with PS3 Slim, takes little space, worth the extra money in my opinion.
I didn't want to spend $20 on a console stand, but I also didn't want to be unhappy with a $12 stand so I bought this official Sony stand. It was a good choice - the lever underneath the stand securely locks the console in place when it is stood up. It doesn't take up much room, and looks good. I have no complaints about this product aside from the price. It's overpriced, but I'd rather pay a little bit too much and get a product that works well.It might be deserving of 4-stars because of the price, but people need to know which stand works well - so I'll give this 5 stars. It works well and I'm willing to bet it's the best stand available.

Price is a little high, but it's a solid product.
This stand allows me to free up a lot of space on my dresser. It use to get pretty warm under the PS3 and now the hottest part (the old bottom) is exposed to more air.The Stand its self is very secure with out putting a lot of pressure on the system. A little rubber tab folds in to place (on the old bottom) and the whole thing is a perfect fit. It also has a soft foam bottom to prevent leaving marks on the system and the stand matches the system well. The only thing I don't like is that it was a little expensive.

Bad product, too expensive.
I bought this with the intention to get my PS3 Slim off the floor and next to my XBOX 360 which I have standing vertical. Once I got the stand installed and put my PS3 Slim vertical, I noticed that it still wobbled quite a bit and seemed unsafe to leave standing up, as even a slight bump would cause it to fall over. Unfortunately I have to give this product a bad review. Don't bother with it, just leave your Slim laying flat.

too expensive for what it is
but i bought it and it serves it's purpose well as the ps3 120 does not have the little rubber feet that it's big brother has to support it in the vertical position. the ps3 120 itself isn't very stable in the standing position, especially if you have little kids or animals running around. the last thing you need is your new system falling on itself and broken. i needed to have my ps3 standing because of space limitations so this was a no brainer purchase. $25 is a tad expensive for a piece of plastic but i used the promotional credit i got from MW2 so i don't feel too stupid for buying it. i'm sure there are aftermarket alternatives for cheaper so go with that if you desire.

Plain and Pricey, but Serviceable
It is what it is.I personally think it was expensive for what is essentially a block of plastic. It's stable enough, and without other options on the market (that I could find) to compare it to, it does the job.

Works for all "Slim" model consoles, Perfect As it should be!
Excellent, i should expect so to being a genuine Sony product, ironically however it's not much different from, the third party one made from the same mold: Vertical Stand Holder for Sony Playstation 3 Slim PS3 , if the third party one had the the the rubber grip on the latch, and microfiber carpet for the console to sit on, they would be indifferent. That aside the genuine stand has an excellent grip on the console, unless you try to physically rip the stand off of the console with quite an exertion of force, that sucker ain't going nowhere.it'd take a descent whack or vibrational force to topple the console while vertical also , it's as sturdy as most Tower PC builds, aka if you hit me with a baseball bat, or i'm in a high magnitude earthquake, then ill likely fall over.No need to worry about if this will work on your Slim model also btw, as long as you have a "Slim" console and not "Phat" or "Super Slim"version of the hardware then your good to go.Don't worry about the title or description saying "CECH 2000 model", the only time the slim changed profile wise was when they brought out as reference above, the "Super Slim".i myself have a "CECH 3002A" and "CECH 3002B" models, and this fits both like a glove. So worry not this will work for all 2000 series and 3000 series model Slims.Just so everyone knows the 1000 series are the "Phat" models, and the 4000 series onward are all the "Super Slims" models.

this is a pretty good stand for owners of the slim PS3 that isn't the slide-top version. it was difficult to find this product anywhere except online. this stand does what a vertical stand should: add stability. the base doesn't protrude very much, which is nice if your space is cramped. the downside is that there is still some wobble. i tapped on my system with it on to see how much it would wobble. there was some movement but much less than before. i am still a little worried about having any kind of movement but i feel like this was a good purchase.bottom line: if you want a stand for your slim PS3 and don't need that crazy charging/docking station/spaceport you usually find at an electronics store, get this one.

A little on the expensive side but a good stand...
I bought this stand to stand my ps3 vertical and save space on the top of my big screen tv. I figured to go with the sony brand stand because it is specifically designed for their own product. It was a bit pricey for a stand compaired to others but was well worth it in the end. The stand matches the ps3 perfectly and also has a locking clasp that locks it in to the base of the unit to keep it from slipping out. The inside of the stand also covered with a soft material to keep from scratching the unit. The unit is very stable in the vertical position and dosnt wobble at all. Of course with anything, I assume if you bump into the unit hard enough or what the base is placed on it could tip but for my usage on top of the tv it is very sturdy and doesnt move. Overall I am happy with the sony stand, I just wish the price was was a little lower.
