Late one night while frantically trying to record a presentation for my MBA class, I moved an old lamp closer to my screen for extra light. When I tried to turn on the switch, the plastic split. UGH! I went to find another rarely used lamp and the same thing happened!!! I ended up using another lamp but the whole experience was exasperating. I searched Amazon (the most amazing store ever) and found these metal turn knobs. They fit perfectly and now my two lamps are working better than ever. I am going to replace any existing plastic knobs with these. Buy them, you won't be disappointed. They are heavy metal and great quality. Thank you.

Works well; I would have liked these brass toggle-knobs to be a bit heavier.

This was a quick fix for a broken turn knob on a lamp. Had tried two hardware stores for a replacement before I decided to try Amazon. Thought I was going to have to take the lamp to a repair shop.

I was so surprised that something so small could be so satisfying. I just needed to replace one plastic lamp socket knob that broke, the lamp was brass so I bought these to better match. Well, not only did these look better and fit perfectly, the knob is now soooo much easier to turn! This was an unexpected bonus, especially since I'm of that age where fingers ache on cold days and make those plastic knobs an uncomfortable experience. I only needed the one but quickly used the other three to replace the knobs on other lamps. I get a small satisfaction every time I turn my lamps on & off using these!

The quality difference between cheap plastic and nicely machined brass is huge. Much nicer looking and easier to operate. How? The part you twist between your fingers is larger, hence easier to find when reaching up under a lamp shade. Also you use less twisty motion since the size ratio between the knob and the screw it turns is larger. And finally the knurled/ridged edge is easier to grip.

We live in a city of over 100,000. We could not find these anywhere in town. We looked on Amazon and within a week they were there and while we only needed one it works perfectly. Put the others in a safe place so we remember when another one breaks.
