Needs more work
My step-daughter wanted to do something with circuits for her science fair, and I thought it would be fun for her to understand how to ‘make her own.’ Conceptually, this is a really cool product. The booklet helps explain, in simple terms, what is happening and why. The issue is the execution. Once she went through the ‘practice circuits,’ the pen began to not work well (ink wouldn’t flow no matter what). This led her to tracing over the same area many times. The paper is very thin (like a kids coloring book) so of course it tore. In the end I told her she would just have to present the ‘practice’ ones because we were completely unable to use the pen. Another issue, there were a few times where there was an open circuit, but the lights would indicate that it was closed……not helpful when trying to teach these things.

A little pricey but for hours of uninterrupted play time..priceless
My 10 year old is a tech freak. He ripped this open and within 4 min had a full circuit made with the lights and battery. I have not helped him 1 time. He's been able to figure this out all on his own. It's a great way for kids to start learning the basics to how a complete circuit is created. He's already drawn his own. Quick tips that took him 3 days to figure out. Use the magnetic steel plate behind the page in the book you are working on to have your boards be able to stick (magnetized) to the sheet so your pieces aren't all over the page. Then he can work with the page and boards just fine once the metal sheet is behind paper. It is really pricey for what you get, wish they added a sound or fan or other component to this basic package but overall the quality it fantastic, my son has worked on this for hours and it is still keeping his interest.

Awesome product!
Awesome product!! We have been playing with circuits and conductivity in my kindergarten classroom and this was a perfect kit to further our study. I love that it is non toxic and can be used by beginners and more advanced users too. It is a great open learning product that can grow as the student becomes more familiar and creative with the components. My class is already designing Christmas cards that light up. As for the product's quality, we have had no issue with the pen and it draws smoothly. It only needs light pressure that is perfect for a kindergartner's novice grip. The circuits and battery are made to withstand an excited 5 year old's experiments. I really do recommend this for any class that wants to embrace not only science and technology, but also adding art to the STEM curriculum.

Excellent Invention
We brought this as part of ingoing electrical project for our home schooled childre. It is well presented and took minutes to get going. The pieces are clearly labelled and well packaged. The book works step by step through terminolgy and experiments, both entertaining and educational. The potential apppears unlimited. My children are loving working through it and already have ideas of their own.Well worth the money.

The package is quite nice and interesting
The package is quite nice and interesting... however, what made me actually be quite disappointed was that the pen does not fully function.. I need to draw the same line many times in order to make it work.. but if I only draw the line once by the pen it usually does not work properly... so I think that either the pen itself or the "ink" in the pen is not of a good quality!! This is quite disappointing!!
