Arc International Luminarc Working Glass, 21-Ounce, Set of 12

I like making freshly made medical grade ozonated super, cooled water, in my home, which I drink each day. Problem with ozone is it breaks down not only pathogens and tumors in the body, but it also breaks down glasses, easy enough, over time. I bought these glasses to see how thick they are and boy they are thick. They should stand up longer to my ozone needs given their strong construction. Also the 21 ounce size fits easy enough in my cupboards. They are about 5 1/4 inches high. The top opening is about 3 3/4 inches in diameter and the bottom diameter is about 3 inches across at the base, if you need measurements to help you gauge storage in your cupboards. These are very sturdy glasses. They arrived safely and none were broken. They are well packed when they are shipped. UPDATE: 8/1/2015 - So far, not one of these heavy duty glasses has chipped or broken. They hold up well and wash easily over the past 17 months I've owned these glasses. They don't even stain after washing. Just want you to know so far so good as these glasses hold up over daily use each day. UPDATE: 9/25/2015 - The glasses continue to hold up except for one defect. A few of my glasses have chipped around the lip of the glass where you drink from. So far not one of these glasses has cracked or broken. I use them to also prepare super cooled ozonated water that I drink each day. I bought this heavier glass because in the past, other thinner glasses have tended to break after exposure to the ozone going into the water when preparing the ozonated water. This is expected from ozone. Too much can produce oxidative stress on the red cells, but not when countered with micro current therapy to the blood with the use of antioxidants. However, these heavier glasses work just fine when used often with ozonated water. Not sure how long that will continue, but at least I've gotten the longest life from these glasses even when preparing super cooled ozonated water. Otherwise for normal daily use of liquids to drink they are the best I've found o far. I grew up drinking from these glasses at my grandmother’s house (my parents had plastic cups). I didn’t know then that these glasses were actually pretty magical glasses until recently. When I was 19 and engaged to be married, I knew I didn’t want plastic, so I just registered for some glasses that looked pretty that my husband agreed he liked. I had no idea that durable, lasting glasses are actually very hard to come by. I think we went through 3-4 different sets of glasses over the course of 8 years before it occurred to me that my grandmother’s glasses were thick and durable and had actually lasted my entire childhood (and she still has them today). I had no idea what they were called or what brand they were. She couldn’t either, she just remembered that she had gotten them at “Rogers” (a store that is no longer in business) many years ago. So my search began. I was delighted when I found these on Amazon! Immediately ordered the 12 pack. I have the smaller set of glasses saved on my wishlist to add to our collection later. We’ve had them a few months now, and so far not a single one has broken or chipped, and interestingly not one has been spilled or tipped over! (And that’s with a 2 year old in the house!) If you’re trying to start your household, or are ready to invest in glasses that last even around small children, GET THESE GLASSES. Don’t waste your time and money on cute little dainty ones that chip with every slight glance. Get these. You won’t be sorry! And a message to the company: please keep making these. You have the market cornered on drinking glasses! Apparently no one know how to do it except you!

Looking for glassware, we looked at the typical offerings: Libbey, Anchor Hocking, et al. When we came across these Arc International Luminarc Working Glasses, we stopped looking. These glasses reminded me of the type used in diners back in the 60's. Sturdy. Workman-like. Hefty. Yet ... elegant ? Refined ? Hard to assign adjectives to these glasses, but suffice it to say we are very, very, very happy with this purchase. Excellent for everyday use. Going to have the relatives over for Thanksgiving ? Put these glasses out and even your mother-in-law would be hard pressed to turn up her nose. : ' ) I haven't bought the optional lids yet, but plan to. I haven't used these in the freezer, but have a lot of confidence in the quality of these glasses to be able to use them in the freezer. Long story short: buy these glasses with confidence. P.S. all my glasses do have a maker's mark on the bottom, too small for me to read, though.

We used to buy these at a chain home dec store, but they got too expensive. Later we found some cheaper copies, but they had flaws and chipped easily. Finally I located these glasses again here, and I'm so happy. They're durable, heavy-duty, nice to look at and great for iced beverages, beer, water, smoothies, anything. We especially like that they're not top heavy, but have nice wide bottoms, so they don't tip over too easily if bumped. We seem to be clumsy that way and have had lots of spills with different shaped glasses. For our money these are just right. I'm looking with interest at the lids, now, because these would be great for jellies or leftovers.

These arrived just in time. We have had a little breakage of these glasses over the past year in our home and were getting low. These are my favourite glasses. I love how my whole hand can fit down in the glass and now bottle scrubber is needed to get out any possible dried bits left by teenagers. It also holds a canned beverage with ice perfectly. I found it very hard to find this particular style this time around and I really hope that they are not being discontinued, as this style and size are my very favourite. You can also buy lids and use these for freezing!!

These were bought last year, replacing everyday glasses, everyone in the household likes them and use them everyday and still looking new. Awesome size to bring drinks next to work and play areas. Best to also get the matching lids. Awesome for cold or warm beverages and soups on the go. These are pretty good for adult hands but the size compell children to handle with both hands, avoiding spills. Well built, clean design glasses. Shipping from seller was fast.

I was really surprised at how smooth and expensive these glasses feel. Although very substantial, they're lighter than I thought they would be without being thin. I'm extremely happy with the quality.
