Phos Out is proven to eliminate phosphates sourced from pool chemicals, fertilizers, cleaners and other pollutants. It is effective – one quart removes up to 1,000 parts per billion of orthophosphates per 20,000 gallons of water. Weekly Maintenance: Use 1 fl. Oz. of HASA Phos Out per 5,000 gallons of pool water to maintain phosphate levels below 125 ppb (parts per billion). Initial high-phosphate treatment: 1. Clean or backwash filter. 2. Calculate the amount of product required using the dosage guide below. Pour Phos Out in the pool, distributing it over as wide an area as possible. Add 1 fluid ounce of HASA Eco-Safe Water Clarifier per 5,000 gallons of swimming pool water. 3. Run your filter system continuously for at least 24 hours. 4. If filter pressure increases 10 psi over normal, clean or backwash filter. 5. After 48 hours test the phosphate level with a phosphate test kit approved for swimming pool use. If it is needed, reapply HASA Phos Out. NOTE: It is normal for HASA Phos Out to cause cloudiness. Adding 1 fluid ounce of HASA Eco-Safe Water Clarifier will clear the water quickly.

Same as Phos Free but pouring in less
I think when a person uses a phosphate remover, you have to look at the gallons treated in the pool and what the level of phosphate change is supposed to be. I've used both this product and Phos Free and like them both just fine. I'm not sure I could say one works better than the other, but using this product, cleaning my DE filters was a LOT easier than Phos Free. It seems like this product bonds the phosphates in to a flake or sheet type material, that just 'pops' off with the hose..I have a 40,000 gallon pool, started with Phosphates over 2,500 (looked almost black in the test tube) used 3 bottles of this, cleaned my DE filter 4 times, and am down to about 350-400 area now.. over a 3 week period of time. I guess you be the judge.. I just liked the clean up of this better than Phos Free, (whatever is on sale?)
