Beginning App Development with Flutter: Create Cross-Platform Mobile Apps

Useless
Let me save you $40, just read the Google documentation. I understand that this is a book for beginners, but I can watch some dude on YouTube tell me what the widgets do, or the basics of state. What I (and really any developer attempting to learn with this textbook) really needed was a more in depth discussion of the various patterns and architectures developers can use to manage their applications. I bought the book to be taught the things chapter 9 told me existed.

A good starting point but getting dated
This book is a really good starting point for someone who has some experience. For complete beginners the lack of full code examples would probably be an issue, and some of the code isn't fully up to date with null safety but overall this is one of the best books on Flutter I have found.

A HUGE time saver in learning Flutter!
I've been wanting to learn Flutter for a while now, I'm so glad I ran across this book! I've gone from zero to creating a legit internet enabled app very quickly thanks to this book.I really love the way the author walks you step by step through creating an app and understanding some of the intricacies of Flutter. It seems simple going through the book, but without a guide I can see how one could waste a lot of time getting up to speed. I particularly like the 'Tips' that are sprinkled through the book, lots of them are undocumented or unapparent things one normally has to learn the 'hard way'.Thanks Rap Payne for an awesome book!

ok book
The book overall was a simple read. It gave me an understanding on how things worked. The issue I had was with the practicality of the examples. A chapter would talk about 10-15 features with code snippets but no full examples. Then at the end of the chapter, there would be an example that has all the features in it. This was difficult to try in practice as it was tedious to run that example. If would have been better if every feature included an full working example that one can build and practice. And build from there.
