Perfect! Exactly what I wanted.
I bought this to cover my vintage and antique book collection some of which no longer have a dust jacket. It is great for preserving books and one can still see the lovely book boards that often cover these old books, especially if decorated in gilt. Just ordered a bigger roll. Hope the company don't run out!

My machine will take 12 inches x 24 inches max so I got out my rotary cutter and easily cut the 40 inch width into 12 inch strips ...
I purchased this product to cut stencils on a Brother Scan n Cut 2. I had already tried the product designed to work with my machine but had disappointing results . . . but that was my first ever attempt to cut a stencil. My take away from that experience was that I was definitely looking for a sturdier product that would hold up through much use. After reading the reviews on this product, I was hopeful. It clearly states that it is 40 inches wide. My machine will take 12 inches x 24 inches max so I got out my rotary cutter and easily cut the 40 inch width into 12 inch strips and 24 inches long. I first used a mid tack mat and a regular cutting blade set at 6 and the speed at 1. I had a perfect stencil but it stuck so well that i damaged it removing it from the carrier mat. So I moved to a light tack mat and used the same settings. Success!!! I made several stencils 12 x 20 and 12x 24. The material is still tricky to remove if your mat is new and very tacky put patience is key. I am beyond thrilled with this product and would definitely recommend it. The weight is perfect and has some body to it so that intricate cuts remained flat and in line with the design. VERY pleased with this product.

A cheaper way to make high quality hardcover dust jacket protectors
I have been using this film to make dust jacket protectors for my hardcover book collection, and could not be more happy with the results. The film's thickness, at 0.002, is the perfect thickness for creating the dust jacket covers. The thickness of the film allows the sheets that I cut from the roll to lie flat and curl free. The lack of curling alone makes working with this film a pure joy. The 0.002 thickness allows the film to be easily folded and stay folded in the positions that you desire. Although the film is very easy to work with, the thickness is still great at providing a high level of protection that I expect as a dust jacket protector. Lastly, the clear version of this film, which is what I have been using, is very transparent and clear. Because of this, my dust jacket covers look just as good as if there was no film over them.I initially purchased this film as an alternative to using Brodart's line of dust jacket protective film, due to Brodart's higher prices and expensive shipping cost ( $7.99 shipping, even with Prime!?!? ). On a related side note, if you intend to use this film to create dust jacket protectors, expect to get 11 or 12 normal size dust jackets covered when using the 12-foot roll. If you are considering using this film for the same reasons as I have, then you owe it to yourself to give this film a try.

Superior product
I had purchased Grafix Dura-Lar Clear several times and when I ran out I bought 2 other acetate products and there was a striking difference in the quality of the products. The Dura-Lar clear .005 was sturdy and could easily be reused for stenciling dozens of times without the cut edges curling under. The Grafix Clear Acetate from Blick with the same thickness was less rigid and the edges curled under as soon as it was cut. The other acetate came in large sheets, same thickness, and it curled so bad I returned it to the shop and told them I didn't want to fill up my dumpster with this acetate. It was totally useless even for practice cuts. All three products had the same certification number but the quality was not the same.
