I am literally selling my PuraX "smart" self-scooping litterbox to go completely to these litter boxes. I had one of these without the open top. It worked well. So well, that I wondered how else I could streamline this filthy chore. Naturally, I wanted to try an automatic box. I decided to take a gamble and drop $400 on the PuraX on Amazon. I set it up and moved the Speedy Sift to storage. It's actually been a neat and reliable contraption, except when it comes to cleaning. Then, Speedy Sift came out with a litterbox with new walls that had a roof, and I wanted to set up another litter box because my cat occasionally gets locked out of the other room. I had my old easy sift stored, but I really wanted the roof so I just got a new one and started using it... Then, I remembered how great my other one was. These litter boxes are just so simple, yet easy in comparison to my automatic. The ease of cleaning of the Easy Sift is 10/10. Compare that to a machine with weird, hard-to-reach places that get dirty with soiled cat litter! It adds to the odor, and deep cleaning is quite a chore. This product is so simple to clean. The sifting process is simple and quick. I just keep my litter scoop around to redistribute the litter after each sifting. But never have to actually scoop anything. The walls are made of a plastic material that is structured like cardboard, but very durable imo. Can't go wrong.

I don't write a lot of reviews and I was skeptical purchasing this. Even after seeing all the reviews, I thought there was no way it could be as great as everyone said. We have 5 cats (because mommy couldn't stand to separate the kittens from a pregnant stray that we took in). I purchased 2 of these in addition to 2 other normal brands we have. Trying to keep litter boxes clean with 5 cats was a pain, even when they're indoor/outdoor cats. I figured the bags would be shredded and useless in no time. I'm throwing away the other litter boxes and buying 2 more of these. These things are amazing. I couldn't justify the cost of litter robots that might break or have issues, so I tried these instead. If I don't clean them every 2-3 days, they do get shredded a little and a marginal amount of waste will fall through but not much. That's user error though, not product error. Otherwise, the bags are purrrrfect! What used to take an hour to scoop, empty, clean, now literally takes 3 mins to clean 2 boxes. I'm using wayyyy less litter. I usually buy the 4 pack bags of litter and use them all within a week. I've had these for a couple of weeks now and just opened the 3rd bag to add a little more litter because it really does save the clean stuff. I do tend to overfill them initially so I don't have to add new litter with every bag change. These are so well worth the money and it's really not anymore expensive than the "decent" boxes at any big brand store without the hassle of scooping all the time.

What can I say, we're lazy. We don't like cleaning the cat box, and so, put it off long past when it should have been done. This box is so easy to clean that we're starting to act like responsible cat parents! The cat is happy, we're happy; life is good. The Speedy Sift works as advertised. We are thrilled with the results. If your cat is a vigorous scratcher like ours, I would opt for the enclosed box instead of the tall one. Is it pretty? Not so much. It's functional though, and that's what matters most to us. I've seen reviews that state that the liners are too thin but I haven't had any issues. My cat pees a lot so there's usually a really large clump but this hasn't been an issue either. It's surprisingly sturdy for what it is and was easy to put together. We originally had a tall, open-top model but ended up purchasing the enclosed top piece to convert it. It was nice that I could buy that piece from the Speedy Sift website rather than having to purchase a whole setup again. Other than the fact that we are cleaning the box much more often, it does nothing to curb the smells. Fortunately, the choice of litter can alleviate that issue. I've found it to be quite clean. The way the top fits over the pan keeps the litter from scattering when my cat digs. My cat also took to it right away, and with no issues.
