It really stops bleeding from small nicks and cuts! A low cost item that is a must-have for shavers, both men and women. One thing to mention is that when I placed the pen on my bathroom counter after using while the pen was still wet, it stained and dulled the polished layer of my bathroom countertop. I tried to clean the area out with bathroom cleaner thinking that it was just a stain but the marks are still present. By running my fingers across the area, it feels as if the styptic pen when wet, eats through the top layer of the counter top. My countertop is of a polished granite type material. Just beware as the dull marks are very noticeable. I have yet to polish the area to try to fix it but I hope that is possible.

Great for nips while shaving

For a little more than one dollar each, you get twelve styptic pencils in this deal. As another reviewer said - a lifetime supply (at least for me, though I am 66 at present!).They work great, stop bleeding immediately, and don't seem to sting as much as I remember similar ones doing in the past. Each comes enclosed in its own tube with a stopper at the end, so you can travel with one without risking it melting all over your stuff.

Did not like being shorted.

My husband likes these. They help stop the bleeding. However, the package only came with 6 instead of the 12 ordered. For this, 2 stars. Buyer beware you may not receive your full order.

And while the burning sounds like the short end of the stick, I really hate buying new shirts.This will stop two things: bleeding and your will to live.A must have if you shave with a safety-razor or straight razor. It also tastes slightly citrus.

Old guy. Grew up with the stiptic pencil. Good way to stop bleeding fast. We shall probably all be shaving with knapped flint in future so these pencils will be very good to have! I am just glad that someone was still selling them. Excellent!
