Great for under-gravel filter
I put 2 of these in a 20-gal Goldfish tank to power an under-gravel filter. They are quiet. They seem to be performing well. I use the short nylon tubing with the control valve to adjust the bubbles produced. This eliminated the need for a secondary pump to create bubbles/aeration. The quality of this item seems to be better than expected. I will definitely purchase again if the need arises.

Great product. Works amazing.

durable and reasonably priced
works great for under gravel filtration systems that use 1" tubing. This pump runs quiet and has appropriate flow for a 55 gal tank. It appears durable and is reasonably priced.

Noisier than expected initially...
This pump is perfect in many way, from the adjustable air flow to the ease of setting it up. The only drawback is the noise, at least for the first few days. Once hooked up and running, this powerhead sounds as if you've jammed it too close to the side, or that its vibrating against something...but the bottom line is that it is just noisy and will remain so for about 72 hours before settling into a "normal" sound. Don't fret if you've moved this all over your tank, just to see if that makes a difference (it won't). It initially sounds as if your pump has fallen against the cabinet (my first thought), or that it just needs a few minutes or hours to settle and quiet down, or that you simply need to unplug it and try plugging it in again (did both of those). But the bottom line...it's noisy. Now on the morning of day 4, I awaken to...quiet, well at least quiet as in a normal pump sound. The set up, the adjustable air flow, the pump itself, the price, all great. Just be aware that you may need to be a bit patient with a constant hum for 48-72 hours (and just think of what your fish are feeling).

Stopped working after six weeks
I purchased the AquaMiracle Aquarium Powerhead Pump Circulating Water Pump 135 GPH for 10-40 Gallon aquariums for my 30 gallon tank. It was easy to install and had all the features I needed. It was evident from the beginning that the flow was no where near the rate of the 10 year old power head I was replacing and as a result the aeration was also weak. According to some of the reviews, time seemed to help so I left this pump in place for 3 weeks. Over that time the flow and aeration did not improve and may have actually decreased slightly. I switched back to my original pump which was failing but still operational and it actually had better flow than the new pump. I completed a couple of heavy gravel vacuuming sessions over the course of 6 weeks hoping this would help either pump. I did not expect this to be the problem but it was worth a try. I reinstalled the new AquaMiracle pump to see how it would perform after intense gravel maintenance and it was dead. It will not run at all. This occurred 2 weeks after the final return by date which was my fault for not paying closer attention. It was not my fault that this pump failed with little to no use. At initial installation the pump was not quiet but not what I would call noisy either and there did not appear to be any undue strain. It was just not as powerful as needed for my tank. I was shocked to find that it was dead on the second attempt. I have since installed another brand and it is working excellently. Unfortunately I can not return the AquaMiracle pump.
