Q: How strong are the connection brackets? Will they loosen or break while the bike is mounted on my car?

I've transported my bike with these fenders and had no issues. The front fender will move around a little as it is secured on the tube with Velcro straps but are easily repositioned, even while riding.

Q: Will the the rear attach below a dropper seatpost?

I have mounted below a dropper post with no issues on a Scott Big Jon (size large).

Q: Anyone able to compare this sks set to pdw's daves mud shovels which also get decent reviews for fatbikes?

Rear mount is more secure on the SKS. Have seen issues with the PDW detaching mid-ride.

Q: would this fit a sondors fold x, particularly the front guard. Would the straps be long enough?

The straps are pretty long, I would imagine it would fit most any down tube.
