Aesthetically pleasing design, mediocre sound quality. Definitely not worth the $50 price tag.
4/4/19 - So the speaker decided to stop working on me. It wont turn on or hold a charge. So reliability is also a major flaw along with the sound quality.I bought this speaker because I wanted to breathe new life into my 2nd generation echo dots. When I open the package I was blown away buy the nice build quality and beautiful fabric design. However that's where my praises end. I personally didn't extensively test the battery of this device, since I didn't keep it for long. For that reason I will not comment on the battery life. The sound quality and aesthetics is what I will be focused on. I primarily bought this so I could have a compact speaker attached to the dot without adding too much bulk. The overall size roughly the size of the 2nd gen echo plus, maybe a little bit thicker. I guess the overall compact design didn't leave much room for better speakers, because the sound quality of the the device was rather underwhelming. It's definitely a step up from the base echo dot 2nd gen. It is louder, clearer, and a little bit more bass. In comparison to my other smart speakers and bluetooth speakers, it quite mediocre in terms of bass response. I my opinion even the 3rd generation echo dot has more bass than this device. It's simply a louder version of the 2nd gen echo dot sound with not much improvements. Overall I don't think its, worth the $50 price tag due to the average sound quality.

Worked Great for a While
I purchased this speaker to improve the sound of my echo dot, and it did. Fuller bass and overall solid sound. Very pleased with its look and portability. Worked great for about 6 months, then noticed it would power down even when plugged in after an hour or so. This made it useless with Alexa voice commands, having to turn it on each time you wanted to use it. After a couple month, it would not turn on right away and battery life was always at one or two bars. Making it unusable.I would have given this a 4 or even 5 star rating if it continued to work as it did when I bought it. Good sound and design is not enough, Poor quality with charging and battery live.

Nice upgrade to our 2nd generation Amazon Echo Dot
UPDATE: Speaker stopped holding a charge just over a year old. Read some reviews lately and see that a lot of people have this issue. I contacted them about it and even though it was out of warranty, they made a one time replacement at no charge to me. While they stood by their product, they only followed up one time with me. I didn't know if they were going to replace it or not, but in about 10 days after my initial follow up to them, I got the replacement.________________________________________I read a lot of reviews before buying and hoping the price would come down about $10, but after a couple of months it never did. So I finally decided to just buy it, mainly because we wanted to be able to listen to music on our deck and patio without opening the house windows.First off, the packaging was very nice, very professional. Nomodo is very good at presentation! The speaker is very nice looking and easy to use. I plugged it up, put our Echo Dot into it, connected the aux and micro usb connections, turned it on, and the Dot re-connected to the home wifi and re-connected to my multi room speaker setting. Very simple.Next, the sound. While it's a very good upgrade from the sound of the Dot alone, it doesn't quite add up to the sound of our 2nd generation Amazon Echos. Don't get me wrong, it sounds good, but doesn't quite have as much base as the Echo speakers do. However, being able to unplug it from the wall and take it outside (as long as you're in wifi range) was exactly what I bought it for. Now we can have the same music playing inside the house that we can now listen to outside!A couple of things I wanted to add, since I read people complain about it in other reviews; someone said it doesn't have a volume control. Well, that would be redundant since the Dot has volume controls on it, so that ridiculous complaint is invalid. The other is that it only comes with a USB cable so it can't be plugged into a wall outlet. USB wall charging adapters are typically $2-3 dollars, and most people have extras laying around anyway. For me personally, I just used the charging adapter that came with my Dot since I no longer needed it for the Dot, so that is a non-issue as well. Some of these negative reviews are from people that need to be hand held and can't figure out the simple things. In summary, it's a great speaker for the Dot, portable so you can move it around inside or outside your home, sounds good, but not quite as good as the Echo speaker. If I had other Dot's, I would buy another.

Was hoping for better sound quality
I bought this two use on my deck. Battery life is good, sound quality isn't great.I've use this speaker on battery for around six hours before the battery indicator is at lowest. Not sure if it would go another four hours, totalling ten as advertised, but haven't had a need to use it that long. The sound quality isn't desirable. I wasn't expected Sonos quality but was hoping to be at least on par with full Echo 2nd gen. My full 2nd Gen echo sounds much better than this speaker. I also have an Amazon tap, and feel it sounds better than this speaker as well.I have a 3rd generation dot too, I say the sound quality of this speaker is in between the 3rd gen dot and the Tap. It has a little more bass than the 3rd gen dot, but the Tap has a "fuller" sound. For the size of this speaker, I was really hoping for more bass.Adjusting the audio controls on the echo dot don't seem to make any difference. I'm not sure if those controls are supported when using line-out on dot.I recently purchased the dot.boom from Cyber Acoustics, and it sounds much better than this speaker. I'm also considering just getting battery base for the full 2nd gen echo for portability. Most reviews on these echo dot speakers are not that good. Actually, would be nice if Amazon would release a portable battery powered speaker that at least supported multi-room audio. Maybe Tap gen 2??

(Edited after owning for one year) ...DOES NOT work as expected
Updated review...I started having an issue with this unit working consistently after about seven to eight months. It would lose it's charging ability although it is never unplugged. It charges so minimally that the power drains completely and turns off. I was constantly turning it back on, with it working at a fraction of how it used to work until it drainedagain, then starting the cycle all over again. It has nothing to do with my echo dot which will work as expected when it it plugged in directly to power without this speaker. I would remove the echo dot, plug the device into a different charger, have it charge up and work great, ( I forgot how loud it used to be) only to have the whole process begin again.I reached out to Nomodo support at the end of May after 2 months or so of this playing around with this speaker. They initially responded with asking for info about the device, I immediately sent all the requested info but have not heard a response in just about a month, despite resending the info with a request for a response.I initially thought this was a great buy, but really it was a lot of money to spend on a speaker that works for about 7 months. Sorry I bought it. Frustrating and disappointing experience.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>I've had this speaker for several months now. I am very happy with it as I wanted a speaker to amplify my dot without taking up too much room. It is loud enough that I need to turn it down when the kids complain my music is too loud. (true story) It is kept plugged in and in one spot for my kitchen dot. So I do not care about the battery life. Not only does it do what I need for the dot, but it also works as a sound bar for my small kitchen tv which has poor sound quality on its own. I can plug it into this dock for great sound. Overall very happy with this purchase. Glad I ordered it despite the negative reviews.
