I picked up The Irish Cookbook to reconnect with my roots and explore more traditional Irish cooking—and it completely delivered. This isn't just a collection of recipes; it's a celebration of Ireland’s food culture, from coastal seafood dishes to hearty stews and fresh breads. The book itself is stunning—beautifully photographed, with rich storytelling woven between the recipes. It goes beyond the basics and dives into seasonal, local Irish ingredients, some of which I remembered from childhood visits to Ireland. I’ve already made the brown soda bread and a beef and Guinness stew, both of which turned out amazing and brought a real taste of home into my kitchen. What I love most is that it’s authentic without being overly complicated. Even if you're not a pro in the kitchen, the directions are clear and approachable. If you have Irish heritage, love comforting rustic food, or just want to explore a new cuisine, The Irish Cookbook is a fantastic addition to your shelf. It's one I keep coming back to, especially when I want something that feels both familiar and deeply satisfying.

I specifically bought this to make the ‘Kerry/dingle pies’ that my Nan used to make me as child cos that’s my name. . This is a fabulous & informative book that I would highly recommend to anyone interested in great recipes & the history that goes with them.
