It does work as advertised, but now, after about 8 months in the car, that sticky tape seems to be loosing its grip. Not a big issue since it can probably be removed, and a new one can be put in its place. My only other issue is that due to its design, dust always collects on the face of the mount, and because of the rubber, it can be fairly difficult to remove. But overall, I am very satisfied with the unit. I am using it with MotoG3 3rd Gen and it hold the phone in place very well, even with some rough driving.

I have an older Galaxy S8 Active, it's fairly heavy by todays standards, and this mount holds it VERY well. Even with the bass from the subs vibrating the dash like crazy, I no longer have to dig around to find my phone on the floor after the bass knocked it out of the cubby I use to put it in below the radio. Hopefully the adhesive holds for a long time in the Florida heat.
