Very strong and quiet
Don’t let the 890W motor fool you. It’s strong and much quieter than other traditional vacuum cleaners. I can easily have a conversation while it’s on.

Brilliant product my wife has brought two of these machines over the past few years one stopped working but instead of seeing if it was repairable brought a new one and when the original broken one was checked it was repairable for Forty Pounds these Miele Allergy Vacuums are brilliant So now we are the proud but poorer owners of two Miele Allergy Vacuums one maroon and the other a Musterdey colour but they are worth five 🌟.

Great replacement for traditional Miele cylinder vacuum
Was a bit sceptical about moving away from the conventional corded vacuum but so far this vacuum has proved to be a great purchase. The vacuum can be formed into different sizes to suit requirements. This is easily done by interchanging the various component parts. You can build it into a long handle or short handle variant and vice versa as the cleaning situation determines. The parts connect well and are fairly intuitive but over time I don’t know how robust the connections will remain. The dust collection cylinder is transparent and you can easily see the contents and decide when to empty , although capacity does seem quite small. The majority of the contents empty freely but some assistance is required to clean it thoroughly - we use a small metal peg / wire to ease out any contents remaining. The vacuum is light and easy to manoeuvre ( a lot lighter than the traditional cylinder) and there is no plug / cable to get in the way when working. The battery gives about 15 - 30 mins use before it runs down. There isn’t much warning ( a couple of lights begin flashing as a warning - before lights out).We bought an additional charger and battery to cover this eventuality. All in all a great vacuum, expensive but so far so good - Miele are known for there quality and resilience, no reason to believe this will be otherwise.

A good powerful vacuum cleaner undone by the requirement for proprietary dust bags
A good powerful vacuum cleaner undone by the requirement for dust bags, which - as far as I can make out - are available mainly from the manufacturer. There are some rumours that replacement bags may be procured at a Robert Dyas, but I haven't verified this. The cleaner was quick to set up, easy to operate, not too heavy. The air filter appears to do a decent job. No sneezing until the bag needs changing! On a marginal plus, this has a higher energy rating than its Miele cousins. But still, only a C.Luckily I have a hardwood floor, so the dust is easily removed. The cleaner also works a charm on sofas. The extensible tube means I can reach pesky cobwebs without straining. Sad news for spiders.

Overall, a good option
After a couple of years of owning the Dyson V8 and putting up with a number of frustrations with it (including getting through 2 batteries) I decided to do a bit of research on an alternative. The Miele had a good rating from a number of sites, and having a good impression of other Miele appliances we've had, I decided to buy one.Good Points:Suction is impressive, even on the low setting. Seems considerably higher than the Dyson and the speed with which it fills the bin with (mostly) dust is amazing.Flexibility is good from the point of view that it has 3 modes. As the main unit is quite heavy, we favour the mode where the unit is at the bottom rather than the top - it's much more balanced this way. As a handheld, it's quite bulky for things like cleaning the car but it's powerful.Battery life seems very good, we haven't managed to exhaust the battery pack in a day of cleaning.Storage of the unit is great for us as it will stand up on its own when the motor unit is installed on the bottom. We haven't tried the wall mount because it can be so easily free-standing. It clicks into an upright position and can stand in a corner somewhere. One of the big issues we had with the Dyson was that it was so unstable and top-heavy. It was constantly falling over and the plastic body was seriously cracked from this. It's a good looking piece of kit and I favour its classic style over the Dyson's more futuristic look.Bad Points:The collection bin is this sweeper's Achilles' Heel. It's too small for one thing, and fills up quickly. Detaching it from the unit when it's full is also fiddly and stiff. Turn the top cover too far and you'll dump the contents all over the floor and your feet as you take the bin off the motor unit. When you come to empty it into a waste bin, it always requires raking out - there's nothing to push the contents out and it's too small a space to allow the contents to drop out, because they're always relatively tightly packed. This is something of a pain. Then, putting it back on the unit is likewise fiddly and stiff. The standard brush head is quite big and too big to go under a number of items of furniture in our house (which the Dyson went under without a problem). So far though, these are the only negatives and we're very happy with the Miele.
