Amazing Value
Having recently graduated business school and applying for administrative positions, I wanted a pen that would lend me some professionalism on job interviews and in my potential new job settings. I have always been curious as to why there are more expensive pens other than their styling and name, so I decided to do some research. This pen came in at the right price point for a non-disposable pen that I wanted to test out the quality of writing, ink and styling. I was a little leery but I wanted to give this pen a try.I just received this pen today and I am pretty amazed by the quality and value of it. I was afraid of low quality and flimsy feeling in my hands, but that all was laid to rest when I picked it up and started writing with it. It feels great in my hands with a nice weight to it and it looks beautiful, even at this price point. It definitely writes a lot better than other normal pens I have used in the past with no prior experience to quality pens. This pen will be my normal work pen and daily use. I have bought also ordered its bigger brother, Parker Sonnet Lacquer Medium Point Rollerball, that I will be using for interviews, meetings and important document signing. It should be arriving tomorrow and I am expecting to be blown away, given my positive experience with this pen. At this price, I could purchase a few of these to have at different places for normal use and would not hurt too much if I damaged or lost some along the way.Cheers

One of the best refillable rollerballs I've ever used.I just wish they'd made a fine point version
Oh, how I wish I could get this with a fine point - or even find a refill with a fine point. This is probably one of the better refillable rollerball pens I've bought. I normally use this on heavy paper that isn't going to bleed through so there's no problem there. I tested it out on regular school-type notebook paper with no bad problems with bleed through.I read in other reviews that there could be an issue with the ink drying out or running out in the pen fairly quickly, so I ordered a refill for the pen at the same time as I bought the pen. I always keep one back in reserve and one in the pen, so that if it ever gives out while I'm in the middle of writing some masterpiece, I can switch in the new refill and keep going while the masterpiece is still flowing down my right arm. :)I also like the grip on this pen. It;'s not too heavy and bulky like some, yet it has a feeling of substance to it, not as if you're writing with a $.99 throw away pen. I'm certainly not a pen snob and some of my best instruments are those less expensive pens (I won't name brands here of the best ones.) But always remember this when picking out a writing instrument that is going to travel with you through your day:Life is too short for cheap throw-away pens.#Credo

A Very Good Choice
This is what I expected when I ordered it.As a retired person, I always favored blue-ink fountain pens during my professional years. Now I use computers more frequently than pens and I find that the ink in my fountain pen has run out when I need it.The closest match is a liquid roller ball pen, which performs more like a fountain pen than a gel or ball point. The heavier metal feel is not quite like that of a classic ceramic fountain pen, but adequately close. With click-type or screw-type pens, I often have improperly put in my shirt pocket ruining a shirt. With this cap type pen, I'm less likely to make that mistake.I would have preferred a cartridge with blue ink. When this cartridge runs out, I'll replace it with an appropriate one.As far as the amount of ink in the cartridge is concerned, it should not be a problem for me since I use it infrequently. So far I haven't noticed any degradation in the matte finish on the pen. But then again, I don't use it that often. In summary, for the price and as a substitue for a fountain pen, I'm very satisfied with the pen.

It is so plain but beautiful. The clip on this rollerball is much more ...
This pen is so elegant. I can not complement it enough. It is so plain but beautiful. The clip on this rollerball is much more solid than the clip on the ballpoint version. The clip on the retractable ball point swayed back and forth and did not feel like it would stand up to daily use. This one is like a tank.As with most things Parker, the cartridge isn't great. But if you are fond of the Pilot G2 gel refills you can make it fit this body. Take the spring and cartridge out of a G2 pen. Place the spring in the end of the body of the Parker pen and then put the cartridge into the body. Then screw the top on over the cartridge, note the spring is behind the cartridge. The nib of the cartridge extends quite a ways. However, you now have the amazing refill of the Pilot G2 in the luxurious body of the Parker IM rollerball pen. THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS.

Scratches the paper
Unfortunately, I started using this pen only a month or two after I had bought it. If I had not delayed, I would have sent it back for a refund. The pen itself is elegant and pleasant to hold. But the original roller ball scratches the paper I am writing on so badly that I switched back to whatever super-cheap pen (from Target or Walmart, a dozen for $3.99, or something like that...) I had been using before: the cheapest pen is still better than this Parker pen.Although technically not a part of this specific product review, but - yes, I tried to replace the original rollerball cartridge with refills from 2 different manufacturers, and they all have the same problem. In other words, this pen looks and feels good, but it is useless because I cannot write with it.
