Great taste with water in a shaker bottle with a few ice cubes..

Needed a TSA approved travel pack. Perfect size has an excellent protein/calorie ratio. I look for low cal first thing in the morning packs to offset the probable bad choices while on vacation lol. Helpful?

I only got these to travel, and every time I made one in the hotel or gym it made a terrible mess. The packaging doesn't let you open it all the way, the middle seal stops it at half open and the product sticks to the packaging. The thin powder gets everywhere. Terrible for a travel portable solution.

Pros: - Best tasting protein powder I've tried so far, and I've tried a lot. - Easier blending than most plant based protein powder. - Individual packs are pre-measured and convenient and perfect for travel, although if using at home, tubs are better value. - Less gritty than many. - No chalkiness that I can detect. Cons: -Gritty, but less than others I've tried. - Still requires intermittent scraping of blender jar to blend. - Not as smooth as whey. - Overly sweetened (as are all flavored plant protein powders I've tried so far. Tip: blend with plain unsweetened Greek yogurt or Kefir to cut sweetness, increase smoothness, and provide even more protein.

I decided to try a vegetarian protein drink to see how it compares with the whey proteins I've been drinking. I am so glad I only bought the small box of packets and not a whole tub of this stuff. All of the other protein drinks I've tried are all rather pretty good tasting, with some not so good, or have a weird characteristic in their taste. This stuff is nothing like any of those. No matter whether you mix it with water, or with vanilla almond milk or vanilla soy milk, this stuff is horrible. It is hard to drink. I use a Magic Bullet to mix my drinks so they come out nice and smooth, and I also usually prepare a few extra for tomorrow and the next day. Many protein drinks will start to separate as they sit in the fridge and I can just shake them back up and good to go. Again, not with this stuff. The bottom of the cup would be all thick and gross, and then a third thicker layer, almost sandy, at the end. Gross. To try and use these up I've started to mix them in with my batches of other protein drinks. So a little bit of good tasting whey protein and a little bit of this stuff. Unfortunately this results in a bad drink. This stuff just ruins the good tasting drink. I have to be baking a big batch so I can put just a little from each packet into each cup, so it doesn't completely ruin it. If there is a good tasting vegetarian protein, please let me know!
