If you are just getting into this series, I'm envious. Despite its humble and satirical beginnings, this saga has developed into a truly interesting piece of work. This is Shonen manga turned on its ear, but to a revolutionary degree. Murata's artwork is absolutely incredible, and ONE's writing is both silly and surprisingly thoughtful. There's never a hint of laziness in the proceedings. Everything just clicks, consistently, and with no significant stumbles.Volume 13 deals primarily with Saitama's championship match with Suiryu, an apparently peerless martial artist. This is the One Punch Man, however, and it's made immediately clear that he could kill him with very little effort. Oftentimes the fun with these books is witnessing how Saitama won't kill his opponents, because he's a genuinely decent guy, in favor of exploring the other side of the equation. Their fight is spectacularly illustrated, I simply can't give Murata enough credit. He is at the very top of the profession. If One Punch Man had a notable flaw it would be that this series has too many great characters with which to allot time. There's a brewing saga here, that being a monstrous parasitic uprising, so I hope to see the rest of the gang get involved. If this publication goes on for a decade I'll still pre order every one of them.
