SHURFLO Aqua King Ii 4.0 Fresh Water Pump, 12v

Arrived on time. This is a perfect replacement for the same model I had in my boat. Easy to install, runs great.

I bought this pump to replace the original belt-driven pump in my boat. The original pump was the same amperage as this one, but this one delivers better pressure to the faucets. It's now a scenario that the pressure flow is restricted by the faucets and shower head, not the pump itself. This pump is also quiet. That said, I do not want a silent pump in my boat. if the pump is cycling due to a leak somewhere, I want to hear it. This makes enough noise for that purpose but it is not noisy enough to be annoying. Mine is installed directly below an interior dinette seat, so it's in the "living area" of the boat. My point being my installation is about as loud as it's going to get and it's satisfactorily quiet. It does draw 10 amps when it runs per my instrument panel. This is fairly high amperage, but by going with this pump, I do not need a separate wash-down pump for the exterior of the boat.

This pump is very quiet, smooth and powerful. Too bad it only lasted 2 months. Update: actually, it was my bad that the pump stoped working. Had to work out a short circuit. Anyways, this bad lil’ pump has been AMAZING! It’s so quiet and smooth and reliable.

I bought this as a replacement unit for my previous Shurflo. The original was discontinued model. This is the 3rd fresh water pump I have put on the boat. Seems they only last about 5 years. The only reason I did not rate this 5 stars was because the pressure sensitive shut off was not adjusted properly from the factory. It's easily adjustable using a small allen wrench. If you don't have it automatically shut off, the pump will run endlessly, damaging your pump (over heating), and you'll burn your battery down. Be sure to flush ALL your places where water flows (Sinks, showers), before adjusting the pressure shut off, as air in any line will create a false positive on shut off adjustment.

This pump is slightly longer that the one it replaced so I was afraid that I'd have to make more modifications but I was able to simply drill new holes and everything cleared. This one was 10psi higher than the older model so it has to work less and the pressure in our fresh water system is greatly improved.
