This hair color is excellent. I applied it to dark hair and the red highlights turned out vibrant and true to the description. The color looks rich and even, and it gave my hair a beautiful finish without disappointment. Great option if you want noticeable red tones on dark hair.

If you have dark hair, this is the best product I have found for permanent red. It does fade a bit so it’s a good idea to use a shampoo/conditioner that has red in it throughout the week to keep the color fresh. If you use it for a while, it leaves the end of your hair damaged. I focus on just touching up the new growth every five weeks or so and try to keep it off the rest of my hair.

I use this hair dye for the bottom of my hair only. The red is vibrant, but it really only last about 3 weeks, before fading. The salon dye would last about 5-6 weeks. It's not an issue to color more often, but i wish it would last a bit longer. Easy to apply. Strong smell. Use gloves and a smock.

I’ve been dying my hair red for a long time and, am always trying different brands of red hair dye. This is the most vibrant and pigmented red hair color I’ve used. Your hair color ends up coming the same shade as advertised unlike, a lot of the other brands I’ve used before. Also I noticed It stays in your hair longer than other products I’ve used. This produces very professional highlights,and the colour is vibrant and bright,i didnt use it directly on the roots though i using two or three inches away from the Roots then ok as worried about allergic reaction on scalp with hair colours,as some have allergies,though the colour was vibrant and even.

I recently purchased L’Oreal Excellence Hicolor, Red Magenta Highlights for my daughter. She wanted to dye sections of her hair in red, without having to bleach her hair first (she has very dark hair with 3B and 3C curls). This product was very easy to use and created deep red tones (as was desired) on dark hair. We will definitely be buying this product again. NOTE: while the instructions said to use a #40 volume developer we opted for a number 20 instead to avoid loosening the curls too much. Worked great!
