A Must-Have for WoW Fans!
World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1 is a fantastic deep dive into the lore of Azeroth! It covers the rich history, characters, and events that shaped the world of Warcraft. The artwork is stunning, and the storytelling is engaging, making it a must-have for any WoW fan or lore enthusiast.

Wonderful Lore
I've loved the Warcraft lore ever since I was a child. I played Warcraft before World of Warcraft with my friends, and even hopped into World of Warcraft eventually. A lot of my childhood has Warcraft in it, and lately the game has had a lot of controversy and concern. It would be excellent to have a version of the game to play offline, but we don't and that's why I've purchased this book. This book contains a lot of the major history of Lordaeron, particularly for the Trolls, the Night Elves, Humans and Dwarves. It also contains important lore information on the Titans, and several other major factions within the game. The second volume I assume contains more information about Draenor, the Orcs, Draenei, and the burning legion, but I think both of them contain a significant portion of the lore from most of the expansions up to the Mists of Pandaria. The pictures and print quality of this book are excellent, and it is sturdy.I received the book in perfect condition, no cuts or major defects, deformations, or printing errors. I recommend this for someone who likes to read and has an interest in World of Warcraft lore.Overall, a great purchase.

Great book
These chronicles are a good and fun way to catch up on all the lore of WoW. With so many expansions, it can be hard to learn all of the lore which is why I wanted to buy these books. Happy with my purchase and my kids have even been interested in reading them.

Great for introducing WoW lore
I'll preface this review by stating I know next to no background lore for World of Warcraft. I didn't get into the game, but the lore always fascinated me; I really wanted something that'd detail the story for me to read and understand without having to read many Wiki pages. That being said, I know the story has been retconned in this book, so die-hard fans might be somewhat upset, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading this from beginning to end since I'm new to all of this.Chronicle Volume 1 starts with the Pantheon waging war on the demons and the Old Gods; It also details sub-chapter events with timeline mentions leading up to the opening of the Dark Portal. I won't get too terribly much into the content since it's either retconned, or I'll butcher the explanation. In short, this was a great introductory read to expose me to the World of Warcraft lore and I'm very excited to start Volume 2. If you're new to it like me and want a physical explanation of the lore, I highly recommend it. Die-hard fans "may" enjoy it, but expect changes from the old established lore.

A Lore Tome Worthy for any Warcraft Fan
I bought Chronicle Volume 1 physically for it's current price on Amazon for $23.99, and it's been absolutely worth every penny. It's a definite must own for fans or collectors of anything Warcraft related. Don't let the Dark Horse Books label fool you. Even though this was published from a franchise led comic company, it was created with the intent of being more than just an expensive art book. Not only was this written with care and franchise devotion from the now retired Story and Franchise developer of Blizzard Entertainment, Chris Metzen, it was also co created in collaboration with other novelists such as Christine Golden, and even Richard A. Knaak.Volume 1 could be described as the "Old Testament Bible" abridged version that covers the entirety of the Warcraft game universe both the MMO and the original RTS trilogy. It serves essentially the same purpose as the Silmarillion for J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth. It explains the history and purpose of prominent non playable characters (NPCs) and other ancient lore heavy characters that inhabit or surround Azeroth. In this volume, readers will read various expositions such as what exactly is the Pantheon Titans, learn about the ancient Night Elf Empire, and even read up to events when Medivh took the mantel of Azeroth's Guardian. Included in this hardbound edition are various full colored one to two page spreads of artwork to flesh out certain characters or events, and even display various stages of Azeroth's continents in different historical stages. My number one suggestion for owning this 5-star rated product, is that DO NOT BUY THE KINDLE VERSION or any digital version of Chronicle (vol 1 and the upcoming vol 2). It ruins the magic of reading this book and the kindle transfer is messy. This is something that you want to hold in your hands to read on a rainy day or when you are waiting on Battle.net's maintenance Tuesdays. If you have been collecting World of Warcraft's Collector's editions, then this book will look just as awesome on the shelf. This book is also an awesome read if you are currently playing World of Warcraft's latest expansion, Legion. It does help flesh out characters like Odyn and the Val'kyr. I am already excited for the next volume...too bad we all have to wait till March.
