This was well worth the money. I went straight from opening the box to drilling dowel holes in less than 2 minutes. The self centering functioned perfectly and the joined boards met perfectly. I was really surprised by the quality and functionality for such an inexpensive jig.

This is a very nice tool. A lot of times I would try to drill a hole in the center of a piece of aluminum, wood, plexiglass, etc. I could never get it centered perfectly. This tool makes it easy! Nice addition to my man cave.

Super easy to use, however, I needed to drill holes for a 1/2 inch bracket to fit into, but the hole that says 1/2 inch is too small to use a 1/2 drill bit.

When I opened the box, I could tell this jig was not going to center the holes. The black metal which you drill through is not centered within the aluminum sides that attach to the wood. One photo shows the black metal and hole I drilled are not centered! I drilled three holes across my board and none of the holes were centered. 2 were close towards the outsides of my board, but the hole in the middle of the board was at least 1/16” off center. I could do a better job centering without this jig. I bought it to speed up the process, but it’s worthless if you want accuracy!!! Also because nothing is parallel, the aluminum side pieces that attach to the wood only clamp snuggly to the board on one side. There’s a 1/16” gap on the other side. The jig is only 4 3/4” long. This thing was a pain to get adjusted properly. The instructions that come with it do not tell you how to adjust it if it's not centering your holes on the work piece. If you scroll way down on the product description on Amazon, there are some very poorly written instructions for how to do this. Just a note to clarify the instructions, when you unscrew the two hex bolts on the side, what looks like a large washer between the two smaller washers is actually a screw. This screw moves one side in and out separately to properly center the drilling holes. I had to ream out the 3/8" and 1/2" holes a little to keep the bits from binding. The 7/16" labeled hole was drilled wrong and would not even allow a 7/16" bit to enter the hole, it does work with a 27/64" bit in this hole. Had the instructions to adjust been included and written better, I might have given this 4 stars. Had all the holes been factory drilled properly as well, it might have even made 5 stars.

Made a 14 foot floating shelf so accuracy was the key to aligning the 9 pegs. Was very accurate and the tool is well made well

My only dislike is that the bar on the handle falls out after you break it in, nothing a little JB Weld can’t fix. Works great for dowel joints, helped me build a large flower box without wasting any wood.

Helped me drill accurate holes in the center of floating shelves. Worked just as advertised. Recommend starting with a smaller bit and working up.
