THE REAL 007 IN A BOTTLE ~
James Bond most famously wore Eucris by Geo. F. Trumper in Ian Fleming’s “Diamonds Are Forever.” For Bond fans its being in that book set it apart as a glamorous masculine fragrance from 1956 on. A masculine scent for sure but guess what? Tiffany Case would smell smashing in this scent too. A splash or two behind the ears and on the décolletage, a glass of champagne and voilà, magic.Created in 1912 by the famed London gentleman’s barbers you can bet that at least one bottle went down with the Titanic. It is a classic woody floral musk scent that when worn is sublimely rich and sophisticated in a very old school barbershop manner. That can be a good and refreshing thing in the world of todays gourmand and oud craze. At over a hundred years old it is still a star in the masculine fragrance firmament. It opens with the pungent slightly animalic bite of black currant, sweet caraway and earthy coriander. Then up from the bottom right though the mid notes comes the killer beauty of the oakmoss. It grabs the jasmine and lily of the valley in the mid note range and turns them on their ears giving them a toughness they rarely display. These flowers transfigured by the oakmoss are the Bond Girls of the scent, beautiful, tough and slightly dangerous. The dry down is all creamy sandalwood and musk, clean and sophisticated to the end. The Oakmoss holds on and never lets you forget who is boss in this fragrance.Eucris lasts around ten hours on my skin and has a respectable silage of about three feet in the fist few hours and then six to twelve inches in the dry down. It isn’t shy but it is discrete in its style and allure. The wonderful thing about Eucris and many classic old perfumes and colognes it that they carry a history, a life of there own over the decades and many stories along with them. If handled and nurtured with love by the houses that created them they can be as lovely, exciting, sexy and relevant today as the day they were first un-bottled and enjoyed by the public.Eucris by Geo. Trumper's Magnum Opus
Launched in 1912, Eucris is classified as a Floral Woody Musk. According to Fragrantica, the top notes are black currant, caraway and coriander. The middle notes are jasmine and lily-of-the-valley and the base notes are sandalwood, oakmoss and musk. If you're like me and hadn't smelled some of those scents individually before, you would certainly have a difficult time imagining what a combination of all 8 smelled like. So, I will try my utmost to describe this wonderful scent.Eucris opens with a slightly bitter and almost pungent note of dark fruit (probably the black currant). In a few minutes, it quickly dries down into a beautifully rich, dark and compelling fragrance with a slight wet smokiness to it mixed with a hint of leather. It is distinctly masculine and rugged with dark elements yet wonderfully refined. It is a fragrance that will take you by surprise and make you want to keep smelling it over and over again. This is for a man's man who needs to tone it down for formal events. I understand perfectly now why Ian Fleming chose to mention Eucris in his James Bond novel Diamonds Are Forever. At over 102 years old, it should come as no surprise that Eucris has some distinctly dated qualities to it. At the same time however, it has proven to be a timeless scent that for good reason has lasted throughout the past century. It comes in a handmade, solid black glass bottle that coincidentally and perhaps appropriately resembles the shape of a tombstone. The only label on the front is reminiscent of black and white silent films of the 1920's and there is no atomizer. This is not your average fragrance nor is it for everyone but you'd be wrong to dismiss it without trying it first!

Was a little unsure initially, but...
I liked the scent, initially, but it reminded me of something I couldn't put my finger on. Then it hit me: I'm fairly sure that this is the cologne my grandfather wore - which isn't a bad thing at all. It's a mature, classic, subtle scent, without a lot of overbearing fruitiness. It's a great scent for a confident man. My wife liked it immediately, even saying it is now her personal favorite. The bottle is also very cool and also reminds me of classic products that simply aren't around much anymore.

This is what Lucius Malfoy smells like.
Smells like a dark forest. Mossy, woody, earthy. Old money fragrance. Guarantee this is Lucius Malfoy's signature scent.

Great Scent... Wished it lasted a bit longer
I purchased this fragrance after I used GFT's Eucris Shaving Cream.Absolutely love the scent. Has a very earthy, masculine scent that has a 60's vibe to it. The scent was a unique addition to my shave soap/cream collection and this EdT is a unique addition to my cologne collection. My only complaint is the scent seems to fade pretty quick within a matter of a few hours. Maybe 3-4 hours. Also when the package came it was pretty leaky.

Great product
I love Geo F. Trumper. This scent did not disappoint. I splash it on the inside of my coats and jackets and it lasts. I found out later that Ian Flemming wrote it into his novels as the official scent of James Bond. Bonus! If you want to know what James Bond smells like, just smell me.

Not my style
Not at all what I expected. Will not buy again and will probably pour it out. Has the smell of a middle eastern smelling fragrance.

Awesome cologne, but POTENT
I bought this cologne because I love the shaving soap. This stuff smells wonderful - manly, musky, spicy, floral, slightly citrusy.Word of caution: this cologne is potent - a little goes a LONG way. I'm talking 1-2 drops rubbed between your hands and then lightly on your neck. it is probably not appropriate for the workplace. Save for going out. If you're using it correctly, a bottle should last years.
