incredible cutting machine
I use it daily in my work to make cuts in wooden panels, I can say that it is a good tool since it cuts easily and does not drain the battery quickly. Something that I really liked in its grip and its easy way to change the cutting blade

You'll wonder why you ever used a jab saw
Plenty of power using a 5.0 amp hour battery and lightweight. Was installing slim LED recessed lights in several rooms. Didn't want to use a drywall jab saw to cut out the holes or a hole saw attached to a drill. Wanted something with dust management. This made quick work of the ceiling's drywall, and the dust shroud worked great when attached to a vacuum. The LED lights on the end of the unit are nice, but a good deal of the light will be blocked if you were to use the depth gauge. Another thing to note are the components that are not listed on Amazon's "included components" list . This tool also comes with: - Makita 193449-2 dust extracting base - Two 1/8 inch drywall cutting bits - 1/4 inch collet sleeve

Coupled with an extractor, cutouts take almost zero time.
First job I used it for was installing a dozen 6" ceiling lights, that for some reason required a 6 1/4" opening???, making my usual 6" hole saw obsolete. Already had the AWS dust extractor, ordered this and made a 6 1/4" jig. Considering how quickly this thing cuts, plus the fact there's no cleanup, or need for a helper with a shop vac with an extractor, the cut out portion of the job worked went smooth, and exponentially faster. The tool earned it's spot on my essentials list.

Most versital tool for any craftsman.......
It will make cut-outs so very easy and clean....Worth the purchase...

Dont buy the old one only this one
I had bought the old makita router and working in the drywall trade this thing js on 8 hours a day so it puts a lot of wear on it and the old one burned out in just 8 months and this one is 3 months in and no weord smells or loud noises and the battery varely even drains

If you’re a contractor or even a diy’er this is a tool you must have. Malita makes some of the best tools out there.

Works great, plenty of power
Costs a little more than others but well worth it. Been hanging rock for 40 years. Since before zippers . This one is excellent
