Finally- I read a book with true doctor kink in it
I’ve been craving a Doctor kink book for months now. I’ve read a few books with a doctor H, but this one really brought in the Doctor kink, and more than once- chef’s kiss in the kinky doc department 👏🏻.Cassidy is 19, almost 20, and has been in a relationship with her boyfriend for a few years now, but things have gone stale. They rarely see each other and don’t have a meaningful connection like they used to have. For a while now, Cassidy has been seeing her boyfriend’s dad in a different light, in a more carnal light. Dr. Greg Lowe is 40 and a very busy man; as a trauma surgeon, he’s on call a lot and doesn’t have time to be in a relationship or even to see women casually. Either way, he’s been interested in Cassidy for a while, but she’s his son’s girlfriend, so she’s obviously off limits, until she’s not 😈.Cassidy breaks up with Preston, but when she does it, he doesn’t take her seriously. He leaves to go to work in the middle of this conversation, again, not prioritizing their relationship or what she has to say. But guess who’s home when Preston leaves- yup, his father 😉. When Cassidy tells Greg that she and Preston broke up, they can’t help but indulge in the chemistry that’s constantly sizzling around them. The kiss they share is enough to solidify their connection, so when she comes back a week and a half later and gets brushed off by Preston yet again (she went to once again confirm that she was serious and they’re not together), all bets are off- let the sexy time begin 🔥🥵.The secretive rendezvous was delicious🤤… although they hesitate (for obvious reasons) they can’t help gravitating towards their baser, primal instincts of being intimate and having lots of smex😅. True, Cassidy isn’t a v, but Preston was a selfish enough lover that she never knew what true passion was like, until Greg showed her exactly what she’s been missing 🥵🔥😅. It’s primal, raw, passionate, and even emotional when they have sex. He becomes such a delicious alpha and she melts every time. And the kink I was missing in the other Doctor books comes out 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Not only in his office 🥵 but at home too 😉😅💦🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤. I very much enjoyed all the fantasies they recreated🔥🔥🔥.Although they’re basically 20 years apart, I still found their HEA believable ❤️. Plus, he was always about her, even towards the end when things get tough and decisions have to be made.I looooved it!⚠️safety squad⚠️-no cheating/owd-mild omd- well, the h was with the H’s son in the beginning 😬. They kiss, but this is all before the H and h are together-om2 hits on the h, but she shuts him down quickly and the H rescues her from the situation-ow has been sending baked goods to the H in order to get him to notice her- he doesn’t and isn’t remotely interested- and then she catches the H and h in a compromising position (she’s his neighbor and she was being a creeper by trespassing and watching them through a window) but the H puts her in her place 💅he’s all about the h-the H and h’s mom see each other at the store and the h’s mom overhears the H asking for restaurant recs in order to take his gf out- the mom tells the h about this “girlfriend” of his and h thinks the worst, but the H was talking about her the whole time 🙈

First Off, I Don’t Have Daddy Issues
First of all I want to preface this by saying I do NOT have daddy issues. This usually isn’t my favorite trope when the FMC is below like 25 because it gives off more of a pedo vibe than love interest and I usually don’t like romance books that have smut right off the rip since there’s no build up. HOWEVER the writing in this is a 12/10 I was engaged the entire time. The scenes were SO VIVID and the perfect amount of spice and description. I didn’t feel like the MMC was creepy or grooming her in anyway - I actually loved the way he yearned for her (NOT JUST LUSTED). I read this book in 3 hours and I was not disappointed. The twist? Not so great, the climax? PERFECT, the ending? Excellent conclusion AND NOT THE TYPICAL THEY GET ENGAGED/MARRIED. Very much a feel good story 🤌🏻

It was ok
Sorry was fast paced and super spicy good story line though. I wouldn't read it again though but I think a one time read is good.

High-heat age-gap romance -- heavy on the sex, but also with a real heart (warning: minor spoilers)
This is the first Nikki Sloane book I've read, and I highly enjoyed it. I'm partial to age-gap romances, which I realize are not to everyone's taste. This is a short book and a fast read; in 40-year-old Dr. Greg Lowe and Cassidy, who turns 20 in the course of the story, Ms. Sloane has succeeded in creating a fully developed and sympathetic hero and heroine. The novel is told entirely through Cassidy's first-person POV, so we get a lot of Cassidy's internal monologue, struggles, and conflict. Nevertheless, we also glean a lot of what's going on from Greg's perspective through sharp, realistic, and often emotionally powerful dialogue. There is a "taboo" angle in that Greg is the father of Cassidy's ex-boyfriend Preston, and that they commence their relationship rather quickly after her breakup with Preston. However, the Cassidy-Preston relationship had been going south for some time (pretty much entirely Preston's fault; he's been ignoring a lot of the time except when he wants to have sex with her; he's not a very sympathetic character for most of the story, but, by the end, the reader gets some insight into his struggles with Greg's negligence due to Greg's workaholism when Preston was a child; and Greg's effort to repair the relationship with quality fatherhood now).Several previous reviewers have complained that Cassie is immature. i don't entirely agree. I don't mean to seem ageist, but she doesn't strike me as particularly immature for a 19-20-year-old. She is relatively inexperienced in matters of the heart, to be sure, and perhaps "green" or naive in a couple of other ways emotionally, but I find her to be reasonably intelligent and sensitive. She strikes me as caring genuinely about both Preston, even after she breaks up with him and when she's angry with him, and about Greg. Even though I'm a guy, I find her quite relatable in terms of stuff I dealt with when I was in my late teens and twenties. Ultimately, she has two particularly important qualities for a good romance heroine: she's assertive and she knows what she wants.Another repeated criticism of this book is that Ms. Sloane succeeds in developing a powerful physical connection between Greg and Cassidy but little or no real emotional connection. I disagree. While it is true that the love/sex scenes comprise roughly 50% of the text (if that's not your thing, I'd advise that you skip this one); the sex scenes are quite potently written; they flow well and capture them in an intimate way. In addition to the usual activites such as mutual oral sex and vaginal intercourse, Ms. Sloane maximizes the erotic potential of mutual musturbation. Greg also devises a creative solution for Cassie and his mutual pleasure when they're faced with an unplanned separation on their date night. (I won't spoil it, but it's pretty hot). There's an appropriately handled (that is, lube + enthusiastic consent) anal scene that works on an emotional as well as physical level in terms of deepening the trust between the two partners. With all that carnal knowledge being exchanged, Ms. Sloane still makes space for real emotional intimacy between Cassidy and Greg. As is essential in any true erotic romance, all the love/sex scenes include emotional moments/aspects/romances that involve either bringing the couple closer emotionally or, in some cases, dividing them emotionally. Ms. Sloane accomplishes this in The Doctor. These are also good emotional exchanges outside the bedroom scenes in this novel, including a point that might be termed the story's "black moment," that demonstrated to me, at least, that Cassidy and Greg are truly in love, not just in love, with each other, so much so that it hurts. These scenes actually brought close me to tears. If you like this combination of elements and tropes, and a fast, entertaining read, I highly recommend The Doctor.

Audible Available Too!
I really enjoyed this sweet and safe read. I read so much dark romance and this was a perfect palate cleanser. The story was light and fun. There weren't any "miscommunications" or other woman drama. it was perfect for what I was looking for.

A steamy undercover romance for Cassidy and Greg
This is book one in the Nashville neighborhood series and it was steamy in the best way. I did read other reviews and they were right about the adult fun times being a big part of this book. There is also a full story about friendship, second chances, and people growing up in different ways. It was nice to read that apologies were given and accepted in a real fashion. I liked the characters and their flaws. This is an age gap ( Doctor Greg) and awakening (Cassidy) romance which was nicely done. Read On!
