Good choice
My wife was looking for a cutter to replace the one that she had for over 20 years. After reviewing several online and in the big box stores, she elected to order this one. She couldn't be more pleased as after 2 months of heavy usage the cutter is still going strong. Easy on the hands and reasonably priced.

Ripple cutter
I’m disappointed in this item. It is too big and too difficult to hold onto and cut with. I’ve had them before and I guess I must’ve had a a regular handle so that you can grasp it properly but this one doesn’t seem to be sharp enough to easily penetrate the skin of an apple. For those reasons I would not recommend it.

Takes some practice, but it works!
This crinkle cutter will make waffle fries, but it takes some practice to get each one to come out an even thickness. The cutter seems very sturdy, doesn’t bend under pressure, the blade is very sharp and the wavy indents are deep enough to create the waffle effect. I didn’t expect the blade to be angled because the listing photo makes it appear to be straight. That said, that aspect doesn’t cause a problem when cutting potatoes. The net effect of making waffle fries this way, though, is that it takes a lot of time, effort and care, and baking the waffles instead of deep frying (I do not fry for health reasons) produces results that are more like thin & crispy potato chips than fries. So if this is what you want or you are willing to deep fry, I would recommend this cutter to you.
