Love it! Love it! Love it!!!
I rarely write reviews, but I received the Presto 1-liter deep fryer today. I immediately opened the box, washed it, and prepared to fry fish for dinner. Let me tell you, I have "nothing but praises" for this deep fryer and to Presto for making such a quality small size appliance! I love the fact that it has a built-in splatter screen that allows you to cook with the lid closed to prevent oil from popping all over your counter, a handle that folds into the fryer when not in in use, and a regulator to adjust the cooking temperature. It also has a magnetic power cord which I like as well. I used to have the Fry Daddy and I could not stand the fact that I couldn't control the temperature. Presto has the right idea! If you are considering getting one and you are in an RV (like me), an apartment, or any small living unit and want to be able to deep fry foods, definitely take the plunge. Just be aware this is a "one or two person appliance". If you have a family you will want to get a larger one. I reviewed five (5) different small deep fryers before deciding on this one and I am not disappointed in the least. I also like the fact that it's covered by a one-year warranty.

Nifty little fryer.
Excellent fryer. Simple and neat. Gets the job done. Only small batches can be done at a time, keep that in mind.

Works well, but has its issues.
It works as it should for small portions. HOWEVER, only fill oil to the minimum level for first usage, then add if needed. I went half way between min and max, and the 350 degree oil spilled over when adding the food. Created a giant mess...not to mention a potentially very dangerous fire and burn situation. It would be nice if it had a set temperature indicator and a hook for the basket. For the price, the fryer fits my temporary needs, but for longer term usage I'd go with a different unit. UPDATE: Went to clean the fryer after a few uses, and the lack of a non-stick surface became a very apparent flaw. Ended up ditching the unit.

Fun and Successful and I love the basket
This is my first experience ever deep frying. Normally I don't like deep fried foods at restaurants but I recently saw some recipes I wanted to try, mainly fish and donuts! The directions and warnings are rather terrifying. Yet I proceeded, with great caution. Amazing! I love this little thing! First we fried a frozen Chinese donut. Never had that before but we got it at an Asisan market and it looked like fun. It was a bit large for the basket but fit in. There was no splattering whatsoever and it cooked ideally in 3 minutes. We allowed the oil to head without food for another 4 minutes. We had the temp setting at 350 the entire time. I tried to use my thermometer gun and it read 395 but perhaps it was seeing through the oil to the inside walls of the cooker. Not sure. Next we cooked cod. Cut the cod into 4 inch pieces. Dipped it into egg and then into panko. I was able to fit three pieces of cod in the basket without them touching each other. Upon lowering the excellent basket, there was no splattering. 3 minutes later we checked by looking in and the oil was bubbling a lot and the fish looked golden. Took it out and put it on a towel. It was hot so we had to wait and then MUNCH CRUNCH YUM! Wow! Perfect. Fun. Not greasy. Delicious. Now, personally, I do not plan to save my oil. I used Sunflower Oil. I plan to only use this cooker once a month as a fun treat. I let the cooker fully cool down before cleaning it up. Our kitchen did smell like a fish fry shop for an entire day even though we had the vent blowing. But it was worth it. Very happy with it.

I could not be happier with this fryer!
I love fried chicken. Coated with flour, dipped in egg, then flower again. I love fried catfish dredged in cornmeal. But hauling out the pan, dealing with the oil and cleaning up the mess which included splatters all over the stove (and sometimes me) was just too much trouble. This means if I wanted fried chicken or fish, it required a trip in the car, a wait for the order, a drive back home by which time the whole dinner had cooled off. I tried an air fryer, but it set off the fire alarm bells in my apartment. There was no fire of course, but the tremendous heat set them off. Then I stumbled onto this guy, holy cow, zip, zap, fried chicken the way I want it right from my kitchen. The stove was clean, the unit easy to clean and thinking ahead I bought a container to strain and hold the peanut oil I prefer for frying. So cook whatever protein I'm having, fish or chicken, wait for the oil to cool a bit, pour it into the oil storage container, take off the mesh insert (which catches all the debris), wash the mesh in soapy water, dry it, put it back, put the lid on and into the fridge it goes for next time I get a hankering.. Then soapy water in the actual fryer, a swish swish and it's clean. Rinse, dry, reassemble with the basket and I'm done. Although there is no 'green light' to show when temp has been reached, I put a few drops of clean water in the oil when I turn on the fryer. When the water starts to sizzle & pop, I know it's hot enough and it's time for me to put in the food. I got this a few months ago and have used it usually twice a week since then. What a great buy and just think of all the money I would have saved if I had bought this a long time ago. Worth noting: This is not for a large family unless they eat in shifts, but it's perfect for singles or couples. The convenience and time saved while I'm still having my favorites - priceless.

Es perfecta para freer papas, empanadas, falafel, etc... para 2 o 4 personas, lo mejor es bueno tienes que desperdiciar tanto aceite. El รบnico inconveniente es para lavarle, si bien no es difรญcil tampoco es cรณmodo

Very pleased with this fryer. It takes about a Litre of oil and does just enough for servings for 2. I like the round shape; the magnetic plug and the firmness of the basket. The fryer is a pain to clean and deep frying is inherently messy so expect that some care and time is required for cleaning. Also, the basket handle insulation is minimal... could be heavier... one must be careful and always use gloves..
