Q: How tall of a front sight do you need on a Glock model 17 to line up with this Delta Pro rear iron sight?

I was told by a Leupold person that the correct height for absolute cowitness on a Glock 17 was .460 inches tall, and .125in wide for any sight that was mounted to the top of a flat pistol slide. This could change depending on how far recessed your Deltapoint is mounted and how much material is milled away, but it does adjust up and down some so you can zero elevation to your given load within reason. If you wanted a lower cowitness you would obviously need a lower front sight post, but I prefer the absolute cowitness because it makes rezeroing the dot much easier if you ever lose zero. If you contact a custom sight manufacturer like Dawson Precision you can get some better info potentially for your specific situation and gun. You can also leave your current front sight on the gun, mount the rear sight and find out how high you shoot at a given range and use that and the sight radius to calculate the proper height you need for your specific pistol and get that size sight made for you. The normal irons will be unusable with this sight typically as you cannot get a sight picture to them that doesnt elevate the barrel 10-15 degrees.

Q: will this fit smith wesson m&p core 40

First of all, you should be aware that the product you are asking about is only the add-on iron sight shown in the darker fill on the photo here. I don't know if the Leupold DeltaPoint reflex sight itself will fit on an M&P Core 40. If it does, it would use the dovetail mount that comes in the "universal" pistol mount kit and the rear iron sight would probably work. I have mine on a Gen 3 S&W and I had to have the slide milled to mount the DeltaPoint Pro.

Q: Will this fit on S&W M2.0?

This is the rear sight for the Delta point, not the mount as shown. With the rear sight installed it will not fit with the rear sight still on the slide.
