Good alternative to a landline
Because my mother has a care line system fitted in her flat, BT were unable to fit a new landline as it would interfere with it and no longer function properly. A relative suggested I use a 4G modem which has a port for a landline. This was good advice. The initial setup was easy and the phone connection was very good. I had one issue in that after updating the firmware, the phone stopped working. I contacting the IT support and the phone was soon back in use.

Great Product and Support
Didn’t work at first due to the initial setting but thanks to the excellent support from Glen Ford at TP Link support, I was up and running in no time.

Outdated tech
There's no need for this 4G router when 5G exists, as 4G tends to provide a very slow, buffering Internet connection, especially for video streaming, and the wifi technology and range on this was abysmal. For a few quid more, you'd be better off getting your hands on a second hand 5G router with built-in phone ports.

SIM & Lan connect
WiFi signal is good and strong but no 5g. I have tried this with different SIMs and all work, EE, Three, and GifGaf (O2). However, data speed is variable and definitely not as good as using the SIM in a iPhone, so if up to 10mb of data speed is good, then this device is ok.It will also connect to a standard phone line/lan.

Good but
A pity there is no 5hz connection

Returned unused
The telephony socket is 3g which I understand is being phased out.

Stopped working after 16 months
GOOD points: This modem lets you plug in a phone, giving you the convenience of a landline phone and mobile internet.BAD points: The data rates are very slow on both 3G and 4G. For comparison, my 10 year old Samsung mobile from 2012 is much faster (1MB/s+, using tethering). This shouldn't be the case, but it is. Max download rate on this modem is around 250kb/s (IF you're lucky). Also, the UI is really slow, you will spend a long time setting this up.OPINION: Avoid this modem unless you need to plug in a landline phone.UPDATE (6/2023):This modem now stops working around every hour. The manufacturer support doesn't really work, and there are no firmware updates for this hardware version (V1). I'm in the process of starting a return (through Amazon), and I can't recommend this modem to anyone.
