Q: How long does it last?

This is used for 1 winter season of storage to help absorb moisture that may be present during the storage season.

Q: What size would work best to simply hang in a large gun safe?

I use two of these Eva-dry E-333 Renewable Mini Dehumidifier , one plugged in and one in service, swap them out every two weeks. The star brite bags collect water , great in my boat over the winter but I don't know if I'd be comfortable with one in my gun safe.
