Impressions after 1 year
I bought this purifier because it is HSA/FSA eligible and I was intrigued by the NCCO technology which I have not seen offered on more popular purifier brands. I got this because we have cats and dogs, and live in a rural area with lots of pollen producing oak trees that leave a yellow pollen layer on everything in the springtime. I end up getting sinus infections and spend oa week or two terribly sick. The basement in my house has a damp moldy smell because the air is stagnant. I plugged this in my 12’ x 20’ basement bedroom. In an hour or so there was a very noticeable difference. When I wake up in the morning, I am no longer congested. I have used another air purifier and noticed improvement, but not as much as with this one. The air smells clean. I think the ncco and hepa combination is very effective at removing pet and damp odors from the air. I ran into the problem that other reviewers have mentioned when the display malfunctions and the EE notification and NCCO light turns red. I emailed support and they said to do this: Air Purifier Fix unplug the unit for 30 seconds or longer plug it back in 1. Power the machine off. 2. Then hold the power button down until you hear the click. Once you hear the click release the power button and press the fan speed up button. Speed will go up from 3 to 4 and code will appear on the display and unit will shut off. 3. Repeat step 2 but when you hear the click , release the power button and press the fan speed down button. Speed will go down one level and a code will appear and the unit will shut off. 4. Just power the machine on and the light will be blue. 5. If the letters on the display seem off, have the customer unplug the machine and re-plug it. This is to be done after the machine has been reset if necessary. That worked for me and I haven’t had any problems since. I have also tried this upstairs in the living room and it works great. I cranked it up to 10 since there is a lot of open space square footage. After a few hours the air quality is noticeably improved. My nose is less runny and animal odors are gone. This purifier is a bit noisy running on high, but it is a nice white noise so it doesn’t bother me. The video is of the sound running on level 10.

woah it it's small but powerful
much smaller than i expected but it packs a powerful punch, noticed a difference in air quality with in 15 or so minuets of running it in a 20ft travel trailer. the internal battery lasts quite a while on a single charge for both the high and low setting, the plugged in option is nice because it will charge and run at the same time. changing the functions is extremely easy with a one touch color coded button first click is low shows a white color second is high shows a blue color third click is off. unit does randomly shut off on both settings for any where around 20 min to an hour and half then will kick back on and run for several hours before kicking off again, not sure if its a protection feature or a "cool down" phase but is a little disconcerting the first few times you notice it not running. very quiet on the low setting and fairly quiet on the high setting would compare it to the same noise level of a newer heat pump register running.

Waste of Money
Do not buy this air purifier! As a previous reviewer also indicated, my air purifier stopped working at about six months. I contacted Westinghouse customer support which appears to be located in Hong Kong. They barely speak English. They initially said to unplug the machine then plug it back in then press the on button rapidly. As you can imagine, that did nothing. I reported back, then they said they do not make this model anymore. So I thought, well let me try a new filter. Now there are no replacement filters available even if it did work! I checked Amazon, Home Depot, etc. Westinghouse is no longer making them. I contacted Amazon to see if there was anything they could do to assist, and they said no! Amazon used to stand by their products. I understand it is beyond the return window but when there is no alternative, they should offer some sort refund or replacement. This was a waste of $250! At the very least, Amazon needs to take this product off the website so no one else has to waste their money! Ugh!

Unique technology and good value
My first pair will be 2 years old in April 2026. They have performed perfectly. I have run them for extended periods at top speed. My second pair are 4 months old. I use multiple types of air testing equipment. I’ve owned and tested more than 30 air purifier models. The NCCOs test among the best I’ve owned at particulate matter and VOC removal. I know the NCOO reactors work because I can measure the CO2 output. I am buying two more because the NCCO reactors have proven they work long term.

Great smelling air...
Using it to keep air clean, near a 1 cat litter bin, in a small room. Does clean air. Clean air smells like it had a refreshing ozone bath. A little difficult to decide how to insert the heavy duty filter. Either I didn't follow instructions or they are a little vague. However, it is easy to operate and does the job. I run it day and night. I recommend this product.

It works great for VOCs
Love that the price is no longer overpriced! The only way to get the VOCs is by 25 lbs of carbon or this unit which has Volcanic Ash to absorb the chemicals. I had the smaller unit and it works! I get fragrance in my condo from people who have normalized heavy fragrance use. This kills the fragrance when it comes into my condo!

Reactor for this unit is not shippable to Hawaii
If you are living in Hawaii as I do, I would think twice before you buy his product. Attempted to buy a replacement reactor unit and was told it could not be shipped to Hawaii. The air purifier is now useless to me. Replaced my Westinghouse 1701 HEPA Air Purifier with one manufactured by Germguardian. The replacement product works great.

Fails to Eliminate Formaldehyde.
After using this product for nine days . . . PROS Small footprint Significantly removes particulates in the air CONS Confusing control screen No auto speed feature Noisy (as opposed to loud) fan Fails to significantly eliminate formaldehyde Compared to the LEVOIT H13, this air purifier is quite a bit smaller, if space is an issue. The controls of the Levoit are SO much better. Not only does this purifier lack an auto feature, the controls themselves are hidden underneath a piece of nearly opaque plastic. When they're lit up you can see them. But using the controls is often a matter of hunt and peck. Not good. Compared to the Levoit, this fan is noisy, indicating a lack of engineering precision. Notice in the picture, the upper 004 reading in green indicates the air quality is good. And the 001 PM2.5 particulate reading is excellent. HOWEVER, notice the RED HCHO reading in the picture. That is an indication of DANGEROUS levels of formaldehyde in my bedroom. IOW, the Westinghouse air purifier is great for removing particles in the air. But it fails to remove noxious gases, which is the sole reason I purchased it. I don't know about you, but I have become VERY determined. You cannot believe ANY of the marketing literature out there. And simply buying the most expensive purifier isn't the answer either. I've assembled an Amazon shopping list of air purifiers that claim to remove VOCs. And starting with the most inexpensive one, I will keep buying them and sending them back until I find a purifier that ACTUALLY removes formaldehyde. Read the comments and notice how FEW of them mention formaldehyde. If you haven't bought an Air Quality Meter, you really should. My guess is, you will be shocked at what you find. MOST homes contain items that are emitting high levels of formaldehyde, a toxic carcinogenic chemical. If you fell for the marketing hype and purchased one of those expensive memory foam mattresses (like I did) along with a fancy bed set, then you're a prime candidate. That mattress and bed set could very well be killing you softly, as they say. DON'T rely on your nose alone. Some of the worst toxins are completely odorless. And as the picture clearly shows, you may have a room that SEEMS very clean compared to the rest of the house and yet still be reeking dangerous imperceptible chemicals. GET SERIOUS, BUY AN AIR QUALITY METER. Then you'll KNOW FOR SURE just how good your air purifier really is. Sending this one back.
