Q: Can you type on it without using external keyboard?

The simple answer is, "NO". I had difficulty in using my lappy keyboard because the inclination of this device is too high and I thought to return this but this comes with NO RETURN, only an EXCHANGE option is there.

Q: Does this wobble while typing? does it fit for my 16" macbook pro?

Yes it does. It has rotary mechanism at the bottom. That causes a slight wobble.

Q: Wierd, but my laptop windows keep crashing when I use this stand.

Most likely it has nothing to do with this stand. Check with laptop service for any electronic/electrical failure in laptop
