My cat likes the height. Especially with the tilted topper. My cat likes (and gets) wet AND dry food, but she doesn't like them to touch. So I start her with wet food in the topper while I put dry food in the main part underneath and prepare my other cat's food. Then I put the topper on top til she finishes (she is a slow eater) and lift it to let her at the dry food while I can wash the topper. I do wish the main lower part was a bit deeper or had a higher lip on one side, but I understand the difficulty with some cats who don't like their whiskers touching things. She just sometimes pushes food over the edge before she decides to move and go at if from another side lol. But yeah, it is a great dish. It also comes with a mat that keeps it from sliding around. I thought it was gonna be ceramic before it came (my bad, I didn't read closely). But it is not and therefore very light. So the mat is super helpful in keeping it in one place.

I should have bought this earlier!!! My poor senior chihuahua was struggling with drinking water from his old low bowl due to back problems. At first we were adapting it by elevating his original bowl with books. :( I know, ridiculous but it took a while to find anything like this. When I started using different words to narrow search like ‘tall water bowl for pet’ rather than ‘dog,’ we came across a few very cool items, mostly for cats but I didn’t care I got it for my dog anyway and it was a game changer. The height is perfect and the fact that it has a higher back to it it’s genius. Since his eyesight is also an issue and getting worse he is relying on his senses to get to the water. Now he learned to take his mouth toward the back of the bowl and he works his way down to the water level from there. We keep it pretty full most of the time. I recommend it! Getting one for food next.

Great height, be careful that you don't drop the extender

So, as a cat mom I know how important it is for my babies to eat from a more elevated platform and from an angle. I have never fed my boys from a bowl, because they eat soft food exclusively, and I didn't want them to get whisker fatigue. So, for a very long time now, they have eaten off of saucers. I knew them slouching so low to eat wouldn't be good long term, so I decided to try these bowls. I was so happy to find a dish that was flatter (to avoid whisker fatigue), but was also elevated. These dishes are perfect for soft food! I absolutely love them. However, my boys are not too sure about them yet. My Norwegian will grab the food from the dish and will move it to the floor (face palm). My ragdoll is pretty good about eating from the plate itself. So, ultimately the verdict is still out on whether or not this will work for me long term, but as a kitty mommy I love it. So, if you're on the fence go ahead and try it. I can also tell that they are extremely durable. A couple suggestions like other reviewers have said, a storage compartment in the bottom portion would be genius, and please make other colors! :)

This was an amazing bowl for my kitty before she passed away. It was the only thing that she would eat out of that was comfortable for her when she was sick.

Some months before he passed my cat preferred to eat while I held his bowl... he needed something raised more than he had been using. I eventually measured his "preferred" height and found this bowl met the need perfectly! It gave my hand a break so I didn't have to hold his bowl for him. The other rasied bowls were still too low. This worked out perfectly. But I didn't put the food in the top bowl instead we use it just to hold his usual dish. Sometimes I put his usual dish on top and sometimes I removed the top part, and only used the bottom part to hold his dish. You can also hide the dish under the base in case you have other cats that might eat his food (because one of mine was a slow eater and preferred to nibble throughout the day while the other ate quicker) so it is a nice feature. It is white, cleans very easily. I end up getting another one for my other cat I loved it that much.

I was torn on purchasing these because I read that stainless steel was better than plastic for cat bowls because the plastic can get scratched and house bacteria in the scratches. But upon opening this bowl, I was pleasantly surprised! It’s a very heavy, high quality plastic. I don’t think it will scratch very easily.It’s also the perfect height for my cats to eat. The bowl is very wide so there are no whiskers touching the edges.I don’t understand the silicon mat that came with it because it’s smaller than the base of the stand but I guess it might help with slipping?Overall a very good food bowl! I am pleased and so are my kitties

I was reading about whisker fatigue/stress in cats and found this item (but there was only one left in stock and I have 2 cats). I went ahead and purchased this one and found another, nearly identical, one that I also purchased from another seller.These have been a hit with my cats. I like that they stand taller than a normal bowl and are shallow/wide to hold the food - the bowl itself is sloped, which makes it super easy for the cats when they are eating.The top portion is removable (you could just use the base as your bowl if needed). I use this with the top portion on, and it is really, really easy to clean. It's a sturdy product - I don't anticipate having to replace it for a very long time.I would definitely purchase again. (P.S. one of my cats is 5 years old, the other is 1 year old and they both adapted to these bowls immediately).
