Check sizing carefully--decent costume with generous fit.
Very happy with my purchase of this costume. I run between a size 14-16 in street clothes, but costumes are always small. Really, really small. I needed this costume last minute for a renaissance fair, and I was so worried it wouldn't fit. I decided to get the 2XL size based on the measurement chart and I was very happy with the costume. There is enough give in the costume that anyone from a size 14-18 could comfortably wear it, but I'll go ahead and say it's made for a street size 16 with a large bust and wide hips. The top and skirt come as one piece. They were solid enough I did not have to wear extra clothing underneath (which is good because the material was very warm). The skirt had an additional layer so it was a tiny bit puffy, which I liked. There are ribbons underneath the skirt which you can use to pull up the front of the skirt (like in the picture). The only part of the costume that is noticeably cheap are the buckles that connect from the corset piece to those ribbons. It's flimsy plastic and not easy to figure out how the ribbon attached (I didn't, I just sorta made do by tying them on).The corset is a fabric/foam material, so it has the benefit of being very comfortable. It isn't hard and tight like a normal corset, so be warned if you were expecting something to really hold you in--it won't. The corset has a black back (just like the top of the costume itself) and is elastic, so you will probably have to unlace the whole top and relace it to fit your exact size. I can see this being the one part of the costume that would be a touch too large for a size 12-14 girl or someone with a smaller bust. Note also that you need to untie the ribbons from the corset buckles before you rip the entire costume off over your head---yeah, I forgot. What a dope. The good news is the costume is decent (not super high quality, but not that cheap, sheer, crappy quality I've come to expect from costumes) so it will last through a bit of abuse and definitely from a few wears.I paired this with some black nylons, a treasure chest purse, and smoky eyes, and it worked well with minimal effort. Definitely consider giving this one a try, especially if you're worried about the fit.

Lady Pirate- booty, please
Fits like a dream. Worn to do much stuff- parties, Halloween, even to a Pirate ship tour. The hat is a riot. I bought a little joke hat to sit in my shoulder. The vest is adjustable to look like a bustier. Lie cut!

Dress fits great for large chested ladies. Corset too small
I love California Costumes! I always have success with them. This dress actually fit. I normally wear a size 20 for shirts and 22 in dresses so I bought the 3x per the size chart. It fits perfectly. I initially did not purchase this because of the poor reviews of the corset part. I purchased a very similar Leg Avenue costume instead. The top half wouldn't even come close to covering my boobs. So I went ahead and purchased this costume. It has ample fabric to cover the girls and still looks attractive with a nice off the shoulder neckline. The corset did not fit, just like the other reviews experienced. I'd say it is two sizes smaller than the dress. I've replaced it with a corset looking belt by Hoerev in the XXL size and that looks great with the dress. I also added a black petticoat under the skirt for more fullness. The dress looks great without the petticoat as well. The headband is nice and matches the skirt. I'm wearing it under a hat. It makes the hat fit better and my hair will still look good if I get tired of the hat later in the night. Photos from first try on so don't judge my makeup and hair. I'm 5'4" 200lbs

Generously-sized, decent quality for a costume
I was afraid that since I'm about an 18/20 on top, about a 20 on bottom, I'd better get a 3x. I was pleasantly surprised to receive this and find that it fits perfectly with room. I could've gotten a 2x and had it work but I suspect it would be tight and a little bit less comfortable. You don't have to pull up the front to show a lot of leg, you can leave it down (which is perfect for me) while still being sexy. You can pull the sleeves up over your bra strap so you get a more boat-neck, or you can wear a strapless bra and have an off-the-shoulder look.As others have noted, the corset is pretty chintzy, being foam, but it's ok with me. It fits OK despite my extra-large bust, and the ribbon is (barely) long enough to tie. I'm a 42DDD.I bought a short black petticoat to wear under it and am charmed with how cute it looks. The seaming is overall good, although the sleeves are unhemmed.Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. It's EXACTLY what I wanted at a good price.

Good thing I did
I normally wear a 14-16/ Size XL, but I read the posted reviews that say it ran small and ordered a 2X. Good thing I did! The costume was marked size 18-20, and it fit just right. The dress is fine, but the "corset" fell apart the moment I tried it on. Having no time to order/ make a new costume, I carefully patched it up (it needed a lot of stitching/ planning), and made it work, but had I had the time I would have returned it. The corset doesn't stay up, it keeps sliding down, it offers no support at all, so for the next time I wear it I will actually stich the corset to the dress. My friend (who was hosting the party I was attending) actually ordered the same costume and she ended up not wearing it at all, because the corset fell totally apart the moment she tried it on. Seriously... it shouldn't fall apart like that when it's brand new! In the end, I think it looked good, and I got compliments on it, but it took a lot of time and effort to make it work.
